    Seriously?

This figure barely sells for more than its original purchase price, and I should know since I own two of them MISB and I monitor sales just to see how my values are progressing. Combine that with it being already opened, and $29.99 shipping (talk about gouging), this auction is less than special.

This is a cool one; I think people forget how special and exciting those first couple of Convoy reissues were... the whole concept of "reissue" was a new idea to the fandom.

I'm proud to say my New Year Convoy was formerly part of the Elvin Pena collection, and has been signed by Peter Cullen!

Wow, I remember when this guy was like 125-150 bucks. Gotta love this reissue with the blue windows and eyes. Still one of my fave TFs that I own.

Love this guy. I have two, one opened and one still sealed. I still use the mouse pad that came with it as my mouse pad. LOL.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this posted yesterday. Pretty low bar set to qualify as a "feature auction" these days. It was a great release when it came out, but hard to consider it special these days.

At this rate it won't be long until I can get my yellowed, no parts Jetfire up there as a feature auction! j/k

How do you get an auction to be featured? I'm selling a Transformers Tyco Electric Train and Battle Set right now and it closes tomorrow night. Any way to get that linked as a featured auction?

Who said featured auctions had to be special in any way? As I said the last time people started whining about the choice of featured auctions...We have hundreds and hundreds of newer readers and members who know of absolutely nothing between 1985 and 2007. Hell, most only know about things prior to the 2007 movie based on the things they see on the frontpage or in the select few forums they visit. I'm doing my part to promote the brand to, what has become, the majority of our readers and giving them an opportunity to expand or start their collections. This particular piece is one of my personal favorite reissues, and one of the most unique takes on a Convoy reissue.

And judging by the amount of views and seeing a few of these items get hits after putting them up, people are not only enjoying these, but benefiting from them.

If something is selected as a "feature", it has to special in some way... Otherwise why would you have selected it in the first place? We'd have to change the title to "Random Ebay Auction"!

But if you want to make the case that this IS a special toy, that has merit. I agree that the choice to add extras like the AM Prime and Matrix made this a winner when it came out. It's a shame it's standing has been a victim of Takara's choice to re-reissue so many toys so many times.

And BTW, all criticisms are not "whining" - even if you've heard it all before. SuperMods should be more diplomatic.

Can't call it a random auction if I actively sought out this particular piece to post on the frontpage, as I do with just about all of my featured auctions. A more appropriate title would be "Selected Ebay Auction We Think You Might Enjoy And Could Make You Aware Of A Toy You Could Afford But Didn't Know About That We Wanted to Post On The Frontpage". But, ya know, "Featured Ebay Auction" flows a bit better and fits in the title bar, so I'll probably be sticking with that.

    Also:
Sounds kinda whiny. But I'm also the guy who likes to use "Featured Ebay Auction" instead of "Selected Ebay Auction We Think You Might Enjoy And Could Make You Aware Of A Toy You Could Afford But Didn't Know About That We Wanted to Post On The Frontpage".

Are you so intent on making sarcastic comments that you couldn't read that I was agreeing with your point and admitting that yes, maybe this does merit being featured?

Seriously, lighten up a bit. This is supposed to be a fun environment.

Hardly one of a kind (since I'm not the only person who has two of these), but this one of the very few releases that went from "totally unknown to me" to "must have" in less than ten seconds back in the day (2004 to be exact). This and TFC #0 make every subsequent G1 Prime reissue seem lackluster.

Ok Ok... Since there is no defined criteria or parameters how about instead of "Featured Auction" calling it "Joe's Auction of the Week/ eBay pick of the week/ Featured Auction", "Moore from eBay", or something that indicates you are the deciding factor.

I hear that. I walked into my local collectibles store back when it was first released, saw it on the shelf, and bought it on the spot. The extras that come with it, not to mention the blue windows (previously only done in the Goodbye Convoy giftset) really do make it an absolute must-own for any self respecting Convoy/Prime collector.

Hmmm...I know. How about I call it "Featured Ebay Auction". Oh wait, I totally already am. These are auctions that we "feature" on our frontpage on a semi-daily, hence the name "Featured Ebay Auction", which is what it will continue to be called.

With the high amount of views this, and the other fairly ordinary items have garnered, I don't see the need to change a thing. People are checking them out, and people are even buying them. It's win/win. We get a steady stream of readers. Readers who find items the "collectors" might consider pedestrian, but a new fan will be seeing for the first time or see a chance to acquire it.
