So, yeah, just one cannon. But it was on of THOSE cannons. You know, the two biggest ones he's got. I always figured if a toy like Fort Max is gonna have big ol' cannons like that, hiding in the city-mode's command tower, they'd have to pack a powerful punch. Otherwise you have the reverse--where all the other guns and cannons he has are pretty wimpy. Can't have that. ch12-471 So, I'm realizing this part of the comic is stretching a page longer than I remembered. I made these pages last year somewhere, so it's been a while since I last visited them. But, eh, that's how it is...
Whaaaaaaa? Did he just vaporize the RX-78? I'm not sure whether to be awed by the plot twist or annoyed about having a badass exit the scene with a bridge dropped on him. Of course, he isn't necessarily destroyed but...
The RX got vapourized?! ...I'm hoping this is all not what it seems to be, otherwise things between the Gundams and the Cons are gonna get rather one-sided...
NO! Pun-3X, if the RX is dead...I swear I will hunt you down! So... Please! Tell me if he survives! Please! cry
... I smell shenanigans. I'm just not sure from WHERE. The whole comic reeks of them now. But... RX-78 had to know about Fort Max. He was watching them put the prisoner in his leg... something about that twigged him into confronting Megatron... but he had to have known what the consequences were. Either RX-78 is a very, VERY dumb combat AI... or he's smarter than anyone, especially the Gundam, ever DREAMED.
I'm willing to bet that he's smarter than anyone ever dreamed. Particularly the Gundam. Than, of course, we could just be getting dragged along here and he really did get vaporized.
Well, we KNOW for a fact he's not a stupid combat AI, because he went toe to toe with Megatron and survived.
HOLY... You're not know to off-line any character just for fun so...I'm thinking what everyone else is thinking...somethings up and I think it isn't RX in smoke.
It's a holographic projection. Such a good one that even Fort Max thought it was real... The Gundam have figured out the toys on that one shelf are just projections, they've found a way to do it themselves, and make it move.
Welp...it was a good run! haha I can't help but feel like the RX was up to something, but that he is indeed dead now. No way he could have survived that blast. Unless, of course, I'm wrong.
That's one mobile suit out of action! And one excellent reason given for the war to stay cold despite the continuing tensions.
Hmm... something's got Hawk's attention stage right. Perhaps a charred endoskeleton in the shape of an RX-78?
Or possibly - not probably, but still, possibly - RX just did a super ninja jump (I forget, can he fly?) and cleared the engagement area so fast Fort Max didn't follow it?
Update. ch12-472 So, admittedly, I haven't really been stating much in regards to fact or follow-up info. Mostly because I've been wanting to see the reactions and speculations raw; to see how these last few scenes would get interpreted(ie: making sure they weren't too messy). And while a lot of people figured the worst, there was lots of hope that things wouldn't turn out as bad as it all looked. But the RX-78 is destroyed. It's a done deal. The questions regarding what he was thinking as well as the aftermath of it all will be answered, of course. Just need a little patience. And, yes, more updates.
Yowza. Time to get a new ultimate weapon, Gundam! This time, take a note from the Autobot playbook. Bigger is better.
Wait. Last command I remember Hawk giving RX-78 was 'Room Ceasefire Priority Number One' Hawk was frustrated by RX's inability to juggle multiple priorities situationally, but he never cancelled that last priority reorder. So RX would still have the house ceasefire as Top Priority. Now, he's standing on the sidelines, and sees Optimus and Megatron damn near about to throw down. Optimus all but declared WAR right there on the spot. That would represent a threat to the house cease fire. The fight would need to be broken up before everything came apart, because it could be argued that in a minute, Megatron and Optimus could very well have drawn on each other and gotten themselves blasted. So, RX sacrifices himself to act as a reminder. Megatron comes inches from being obliterated, a warning how close he's treading the line, and Optimus gets snapped out of escalating things. That might be a bit complex to attribute to RX, but... we honestly don't know how complex or simple he really IS, do we?
