My wife calls me a dork from time to time, but she's pretty understanding about the whole habit. Her only problem.......the space all my stuff takes up. I think she'd be much happier if I didn't have so many totes full of crap in our basement. As for the transformer collecting itself, though, she really couldn't care less.

One word to describe my wife's reaction/opinion towards my beloved TFs...

    Indifferent.

My wife isn't the TF fan that I am, but she likes them enough to enjoy seeing them around the house and even have a few of her own. If it weren't for her there would be no RotF leader Prime in the house...for better or worse. :)

I started collecting seriously around the time that I met my girlfriend. She shamelessly encourages me, and has started collecting herself, though not nearly to the same degree. I even got her SDCC Soundwave for Christmas.

For the most part my wife could care less. If I get too many packages in a week, she asks about our finances, I reassure her and we move on. She has bought me a few and has helped my kids pick some out for me. Funny thing is, I have roughly 150 of them, my kids have just under 80 and she says they have way too many.

My girlfriend hates it. The first couple of years she encouraged it, the next couple of years she was indifferent and in the last couple of years she has grown to hate it. She always tells me she thought I would grow out of it one day.

My wife is relatively indifferent to it. Her biggest concern is one which I share - that the collection doesn't take up too much space. I love & respect her, so I keep it modest - I've got a nice midsize display case for the robits I want out, while the others are in storage in the attic.

Other than that, she just asks that I don't spend much on them. I'm actually glad I really compulsively collected for about 2-3 years back in 2004-5, because it helped me burn out on owning lots of dudes. Now, I just pick one up every 2-3 weeks or so and it's usually a deluxe. I'll show the neat ones to her and she likes playing with 'em.

My fiance is incredibly supportive. When we decided to move in together, it was her suggestion that we rent a three bedroom place so that I could have my own toy room!

She will buy me TF's from time to time, but it's more difficult now because she's not sure what I have and what I don't.

Some of the things that she's bought for me in the past:
    Cybertron Supreme Starscream
The entire first wave of Classics Deluxes
The entire first wave of TFTM Deluxes
    TFTM Ultimate Bumblebee
The entire set of the TFTM Radio Shack Zip Zap RC vehicles
    Transformers Monopoly
Tickets to see TFTM & ROTF and she watched them with me

I have to say, I feel like a very lucky man!

Well that doesn't bode well for you enjoying life at all in the future. Sounds like the kind of gal that'll expect you to "grow out of" liking sex after you have a kid.

My wife tolerates it, but just barely. As long as I don't buy too much too often, and as long as I keep them in my game room & basement only, my hobby is safe for now. Now that I have a son, I like to use the excuse that i'm building the collection for him, which is kinda true....

My girlfriend has been tremendously sweet about them, as she knows they make me happy and living in an apartment has cut down on some of my other 'handy' hobbies (woodworking, par example...)

However, she's a sweet Ohio farmgirl and doesn't like seeing things "just sit" without purpose, so she often encourages me to take them to church for kids to play with, or asks me to bring them to her family gatherings for her younger cousins. That's usually ok by me!

Don't really have a girlfriend right now. I'll tell you this much if I had one: if she comes over for a visit, I'd probably clear out most of my collection into the toy bin. I wouldn't take the risk, but maybe just see what her reaction to maybe 3 or 4 figures hanging around is.

I guess for me it's hoes before (Has)bro's.

I never kept a big display, but when I was single and living alone I'd put all my toys away on Fri before I went out hoping to bring a chick home that night.

As much as I like toys, I definitely like the female crack a hell of a lot more than the plastic crack.

hoes before hasbros :lolol , you guys will meet somebody, it usually happens when you least expect it. My wife was very indifferent about them at first but after i explained to her how its like any other hobby and collection she doesnt mind them as much. She even tells me how cool some of them look and why I dont open them/play with them! lol I have a huge stash in my garage of unopened stuff and she says that something she will never get. I had this one GF once who I pissed off and she told me I had to get over my toy FETISH :stick:  hahahaha yeah she was a bitch

It doesn't matter what your hobbies are as long as you have balance between them and your relationships and responsibilities. If your SO can't handle it, that's on them, not you.

My wife whines more about my long marathon training runs on Sundays much more than the robits. Funny though, she doesn't complain about how it keeps me in shape.
