K, I got Animated Shockwave, and over the course of having him his shoulder sockets have been wearing down to the point that the joint no longer ratchets, and he can no longer hold up his gun, let alone his entire arm! Is there a simple way of fixing this?
You could try Future Floor polish, that works a lot of the time. Shockwave's gun is a bit too big to hold up, I usually pose him with gun downwards.
I don't know what the issue with the shoulder ratchets are, but it is possible to tighten them sometimes by tightening the screws that hold the mechanism together. That will only work though if the teeth of the mechanism are still good, though. If they have worn down, then a replacement (or a junker you can strip for its joints) might be in order.
Upon further investigation, it IS NOT A SHOULDER RATCHET. Basically just an octagon peg or something. Is anyone familiar with the shoulder articulation on Animated Shockwave?
There's just an octagonal peg in the shoulder instead of a ratchet? Damn, I think I'll have to move his shoulders sparingly from now on so they don't wear down so fast. I hope that's not going to be Hasbro's cheapo replacement alternative for ratchets in the future. No idea how it could be repaired though I'm afraid. Any photos of the peg and socket?
I'd show pictures of whats happening, but even I haven't seen the damage. I have no screwdrivers to get the screws on the bottom of his back (as the holes dont let anything but a tiny screwdriver into the tunnels), so I have not been able to remove the back and be able to get the piece out. Even so, I also have no idea how to get the peg out of the socket without breaking him.
