More than likely won't happen in the near future. Pete mentioned that WoH Ironfist is just based on regular Ironfist. If his design suddenly gets changed into Hound, then you can expect it.

So he was just messing with us...BraveMax and I bandied around that it might be something like that, too.

So, I'm going to stick with my "Shattered Glass Filler 2-Pack ala Elita-1 and Razorclaw" predictions for now.

Well I'm pleased that after having gone on about this constantly for the last several years someones either listened or had the same idea.

If it is SG wheeljack I'll be getting a suitably sized Decepticon sticker and problem solved.

If FP were being really smart they'd just include a con sticker and a SG Con sticker and Slicer and SG Wheeljack bios so people could choose their own character.

Assuming this isn't something completely different.

I bet the Cybertron version doesn't have any moulded faction symbols.:(

It could be Shattered Glass, or they could simply cover the logo up with a sticker.

Either way i'm happy, however I do still think that due to ROTF's combination theme Energon Autobots would be very appropriate either for Walmart exclusives or Generations gift sets.
I realise a fair few people dislike them, but I like them and I feel additional repaints add to the play value of the original toys.
'SLICER'/'Shattered-Wheeljack' would look good combined with Inferno, Ironhide, Prowl, Rodimus, Beachcomber, Superlink Hotshot, Overcast, or Nightbeat I think.

Moulded faction symbols was a super silly idea from HasTak. They love the redecos but I wonder how many they canned because of their allergy to remoulding parts.

Slicer looks good. Who has figured out the red car beside him? Is it scout sized?

Slicer looks good, but to me this raises a more important question.

So does this mean that the 3rd attendee set is now a PERMANENT thing, with one being related to previous things FP has done? I'll be honest, I don't know how hot I am on that. A "5th anniversary" thing was good, but this means that we'll have the average number of Botcon exclusives raised by another 2, which is not a miniscule expense. Plus, with the vast majority of TF molds in the near future being movie-related, it seems like FP will be (re)painting themselves into a corner in the next few years in terms of molds available.

I don't think there's any guarantee of a 3rd set. This only makes the second souvenir figure (if that is in fact what it is), and in truth we don't even have definitive proof of Rapido. There'll be at least three more to fill out the two souvenir sets and the freebie. If a fourth figure pops up, well, that may change things, depending on the size.

I agree with all of your other points, though it wouldn't surprise me if Hunt for the Decepticons falls outside the rule that prevents FunPub from using Movie molds.

Well I've heard a few arguments for G2 being a state of mind, the state of mind of whoever started colouring TF's after the US stopped selling them I guess. By that logic Slicer would be fair game.

And I suppose a a G1 character that was made only after the end of all G1 media he could be classed as post G1.

Or this set is the best place to fit a fairly obvious repaint barring an actionmaster Botcon set.

If it does end up being SG Wheeljack, then I do hope its part of a third set as I want more G2 and Sg Wheeljack would be a decent gap fill but not in place of another G2 figure. If it is the third set and it get made in large numbers again at least non attendees can buy it too.

As for price i think all three sets last year came in at not much more than the two sets in 07 and 08 so if the price stays low the more the better.

I really hope they don't do a third set again... I'd much rather they have 2 club exclusives a year instead of every other year...

    It's called stealing :p

It looks cool, I do sort of hope it's for the generations line or something instead of Botcon though

I fail to see why Hasbro would repaint a mold that's at least 5 years old by now for a Main Line like Generations. The combiners don't count, the combiners are different, but Energon Downshift hasn't been seen for a long time and on top of that he has that annoying combination gimmick so if he were re-released it would mean a second mold had to also be re-released if they wanted to capitalize on that combination thing.

Of course I could be totally wrong, but I suspect this is in actuality a Botcon figure, if it's anything at all and not some custom... Simply because we're getting closer to the time when Botcon happens and those figures would be in production.

Yeah Molded logos are a really silly idea - they should provide a shield shape to puta tamporgraph onto instead.

I'd not be at all surprised if logos like that have stopped things being made that otherwise woul;d have been like Nemesis Prime/Scourge.

Technically It's easier to make Armada Superbase Prime into Superbase Scourge as it has no molded logos than it is to make Leader Energon Optimus into a Leader Scourge as it would involve a remold to make the Decepticon logo for the arm.

It's a problem with many Unicron Trilogy toys that would otherwise be well suited to repaints.

I can understand why might think it's unlikely to repaint something into the other faction. but I think we perhaps have missed out on Overload as The Fallen because of the Faction logo problem.

This actually started before the Unicron Trilogy. Remember BW Tigerhawk, a Maximal, was redone as Universe Razorclaw, a Decepticon with a big Maximal logo on his chest?

Fortunately, this practice seems to have ceased in recent years (classics and beyond).

It has stopped, probably because of this. And I'm partially glad for that, though molded faction symbols are sometimes a nice thing.

What could be done is something spark-crystal style. Have a place where a separate molded faction logo piece fits in. Make the mold with a 'bot and a 'con symbol and just use one or the other... just as we know Cyb. Scrapmetal's mold was set up that way with 2 heads. (Regular & Coby/Ramble head, each used for the 2006 Botcon customizing class figures: Inferno & Rumble)

No, it doesn't. But I'm glad the Energon version is being used. The Cybertron toy is VERY cool, don't get me wrong. But it has never seemed like Wheeljack/Slicer to me at all beyond the head.
