Me too, it along with the Soundwave Vs Blaster that Tony had signed for me by Guido Guidi are nice reminders of the days when I was hands on here.
Amen to that. I actively miss those days. I love mine and display it next to my TF DVD collection. Here's to 'the early days' iDD
I have that statue!! It's great, i got it at a local comic shop! I forget how much i payed for it though
Wow... I got mine for like 10squid(thats like 15bucks) and i'm really glad i did, it's awesome and cute all at once!
Wow, that's a long time a go. I won 3rd prize with Jazz. A $150 voucher to spend with First4Figures. I wanted the Primal statue, but it never got released or I missed it. So I never claimed the prize.
Yeah, aside from the two versions of mini-Magnus, the only things F4F managed to get out were the enormous Prime vs. Megs diorama and The Snake-Eyes w/ severed Prime head. It was bizarre how many things they had on deck to come out, and how few of them actually made it.
Unfortunately, the market was never (and probably still isn't) ready for a full line of high end, high cost, statues.
Agreed, it's a very niche market. I think the smaller Beast Wars busts might have done ok, if they could have kept them under $40ish. The other big error on their part was kicking off their line with a giant, very expensive 12" Prime and Megatron combo, both of which had just been done individually by BOTH Palisades and Hard Hero. Core characters are critical, of course, but when you consider the tiny portion of the fanbase that buys statues had already had two previous opportunitites to purchase large, expensive statues of Prime and Megs, you have to wonder why they would have started with those. And as an aside, I own that F4F Prime/Megs thing, and it's not very good.
