hello all..i'm still a nubie in this forum and this my first repaint..maybe it's not perfect, so don't hard on me guys :D

i've seen a lot great sideways repaint/custom in this forum and that would be a nice reference for me..anyway, for the car body, i use tamiya spray can and drybrushing the robot parts with flat alumunium enamel..

i made a weapon for him..a pair of wheel blades (yes, i need to take another sideways arm wheel) as seen on this CGI image
    [IMG]

and this it, my sideways..cnc welcomed

the wheel blades are still store under alt. mode

note: this is still a WIP..i still need to give detail in alternate mode..some detail decals and audi logo..alternate mode will be uploaded soon

DUnno if I personally would've gone with the white but I do have to say that it looks pretty sharp and I like it. Nice work.

I think the white really stands out against the robotic parts. I think it looks really good. The way you seemed to have outlined his facial features looks cool too. Nice Job and awesome take on Sideways!

    I love your interpretation :)

Personally I felt the actual R8 model had a pearlescent white sheen so your colour scheme is spot on. Very clean work I applaud you!

For a 'nubie' that's some great detail work you have there...

    Alt mode pics?

Wow, i was going to say that's a nice shade of silver until i read it's white! :D
Good job so far though, looks really nice and very accurate! Just don't forget to put silver Audi logos and not red.

thanks for your support, Death333 :D

thank you, SonOfNemesis..sideways face mold is already detail, i only try to bring out the detail with simple dry brush ;D

thx bro..i really like your sideways too..with LED and some weapons like sniper rifle from game and chainsaw from RoTF comic (i missed this :D )..your sideways have an amazing detail compared to me

oh and one more thing, i like how you craft the audi logo..would you mind if i ask you how to make it?i have discussed with my friend, and we came up with some tricks to make the audi logo..

i will upload the alt mode pics between this week..

    thank you Waveride :D ,

about logos..if i not mistaken, it did have two colors..red audi logo on hood and silver audi logo on trunk

    thx bro :D

Do tell us what you plan to do! I'm always looking for nice, interesting techniques..

My Audi logo was made of wire rings sanded flat and soldered together with normal electrician's solder. It's not really accurate, as the rings are stacked atop one another, but for me that's enough :)

The movie version has 4 white stripes going from the front to back, with silver Audi logos on both ends.

The red Audi logo you spoke of came from the APR Audi R8, which also has the 'circuitry' pattern on the roof and 5 stripes.

But what the heck, do whatever it takes to make yours look cool. That's the main point of customizing, isn't it? :lol

wow..thank you very much for the reference..so the movie version it's not APR8 version..damn, i already make "APR8" decal for the side door :D ..but i think, i will go for APR8 version, because the red audi logo will give the car mode more color variation (instead of just black, silver and white)..

about the audi logo, i will trying too make the logo from tamiya gears/parts maybe..something with rounded/ring shape, and glued all together..

maybe using a wire cable like yours it's a great idea..i don't have to provide extra budget because wire cable it's a standart home tool kit ;D

and what type of glue do you use to attach the logo to the hood?

btw and i already uploaded some of alt mode pics (still no detail)..

    It's pretty :)

I used 2 part epoxy glue, but very little of it.

Tell me more about your decal-making process? It's something I always want to do but I can never find the material..

Your paint job looks great my friend. Really proud of how clean your paint is around your front, side and back windows. Bot mode looks killer with all the details. Keep up the good work.:thumb

One of the first guys who repainted sideways used a very cool technique for the audi logo. He took out the ink-cartridge from a ballpoint pen and used the rear end to stamp the circles on with paint. That way you already have the circle!

    Love the white!

you should check your local hobby (model kit) shop..usually they sell a decal paper..you can print your design with inkjet printer..next step, coating your decal paper (with printed design) with a clear coat..when it's dry, cut your decal from the sheet..then place the decal in a bowl of water until it begins to seperate from the liner..and the final step is to attach the decal using a cutton bud to remove any bubbles that form underneath the decal..

it's simple, isn't it?but it will be a pain if you want to attach a small decal :D

thank you for you support, strata32000

thx bro :D  unfortunately, i only can continue this custom on week-end..week-days it's a full-time "over-work" at the office :banghead:

i do try this technique back then, but i never get a solid-ring-shape..so i think i must find another technique..but thanks for your input, i think i can create a ring-shape with that..just cut the rear-end ballpoint pen ink cartridge into 4 ring-shape and attach them with glue :D

    thx bro :D

    What's that?? :lol

No I didn't learn any pinstriping technique. It's just a lot of careful masking and light airbrushing.
