I remember that organge BB concept art. It didn't occur to me that they might do it for the 3rd movie. They wanted to do it for the 2nd if I recall. Just PLEASE keep him yellow. If you're making him orange atleast call him Goldbug (who I know was probably gold.) They won't though.

I like how this news story/thread is based entirely upon three unrelated things:

- A thread from some other forum that conveys no information and doesn't say anything about a Camaro convertible (unless it was removed.)
- An unrelated, non-Transformers story about the new Camaro convertible
- Old concept art from ROTF where they evidently toyed with the idea of Bumblebee being a Camaro convertible before deciding upon the Camaro with the new body kit


It's a huge stretch to say that these three unrelated things constitutes even a rumour that Bumblebee will be a convertible in the next movie.

 

I'm fine with it. Until it comes to the toys. All the bee camaro toys take transformation libertys from the roof. (most often forming the arms) And it they also don't make a full interior this way.

With a convertible we are looking at some deluxe class bumblebee like a downsized alternators windcharger.

it will be a more detailed bee toy for being a exposed convertible. So cool.

 

Well, I'll feel less bad about buying the new Bumblebee Toys.

 

I see no visible difference in this concept art from any previous artwork released. It could even be fake. Primus knows it's easy to slap some nicely pixelated, blurry text on a photo...However, this could be an explanation for the talk of "trimming down" the character models that was mentioned a while back. Taking the roof off of Bumblebee might be a major step towards a less cluttered appearance. Or it might not.

 

It wouldn't be that big of a change if it were true, so it wouldn't bother me either way.

But I highly doubt that they'll add Cliffjumper into the movie. Because Bee is their starring Autobot next to Prime, I doubt they'll want to have another Autobot that looks exactly like him with the exception of color. Bee is too main of a character - I would think they'd want to keep him unique.

Not that I don't still like the idea of BB being a convertible.


I love how people are whining about the potential new toys, because those so wouldn't be made anyway.  

Nothing you just said makes any sense in any way possible. Ever.

You know, in fiction Cliffjumper is almost always shown as being different from BB like his G1 toy. If they did put him in the movies it seems very, very unlikely he's just be a stright BB redeco.

 

It would be great if Cliffjumper would appear in Movie 3 as a Convertible Camaro, BUT, at least please give him a different head from BB...

 

please let this be a joke.(i know it's only a rumor) Don't ruin Bee by turning him into a convertible. now cliffjumper there's a good idea.. but please not Bee.

 

Interesting, i wonder what the toy will look like since it is a convertible.

 

It's not even that.

 

If this does end up being true, it would be cool. Anything to change things up a bit. Also, anyone raging about how Bumblebee should not be a convertible are probably the same people that raged about Bumblebee being a Camaro and not a VW Bug for the '07 movie.

I didn't mind him being an old beat up car...when he changed into the new Camaro I had my doubts. But it's happened, so I don't see how changing again into a convertible is any 'worse', or why people should complain all over again about it..

 

Exactly. Its not like Prime is a flat nosed tractor trailer or Ratchet and Ironhide are vans like in G1. Might as well enjoy the new designs.

 

The Camaro is just so wrong for BB's character in the first place that whether or not it's a convertible makes absolutely no difference.

 

 

I wouldn't expect anything less.

 

I don't think it really matters all that much...but that's just me   I can see the upside for the Bee toy as it would have less back kibble as pointed out already.
