Wait, is Vangelus saying that in the future. There will be a significant amount of nerdy households like the Otoboto Family?

Hmm.. I guess I already know a family like that. Only with Star Trek/Sci-Fi and DnD.

I dunno, my Defender has major joint issues, it was fine for about 10 transformations, then the joints went rapidly downhill, now the knees are really loose and will barely hold him. His shoulders will no stay up etc. etc. Great figure, but the joint problem bothers me.

    Woo, P.O.K.E. shoutout! Sorta.

Anyways, Vangelus-- I've had my Botcon Cyclonus opened since I got it in '02. His chrome's fine, they fixed that problem on Beast Machines Ultra Jetstorm for this release. Granted, I don't exactly slam my figures into each other, but still... my Ultra Jetstorm got chrome leprosy all on his own.

Going from War For Cybertron to Cybertron Adv. Is a lot better than going from Beast Wars to Beasties.

I have some interest in that crazy title image since I'm a geek.

    So there are ...

    Dragon Caesar's drill weapon....
    Revoltech Choginga Dai-Gurren's drills
    Fang memory
    Animated Arcee
Universe Nemesis Prime(or his cannon only?)
    Movie Breakdown
    Recon Ironhide's weapons

    >> Oh, that drill belongs to Dragon Zord since it has thunder stickers and less chrome... not the Japanese one

    >>> There's Shadow Warrior there too.

While that family is topical: I noticed that the Dad is really into the G1 cartoon that was translated for japan. Some clips are shown Just before he pulls out the New Voyager Prime Triumphantly.

It's to bad his son messes with his glasses during the time freeze. It could just be hokey nonsense like the Hot Curry "atsuii" . Or it could be a deeper disrespect for the Original Franchise.
The territorial claim of the new generation over the old.

Good one guys! We can revisit one of my questions in 30 years or so, I'm sure I will still have some Tfs/robot toys :thumbs2: . Oh, and about the hygene thing I have been to a few comic cons so I know - some people need to shower before they go!

Interesting topic about collecting as you're older. I'll be turning 38 in August. I collected TFs when they first came out, sold my collection in college (not realizing that they were still being made after the G1 tv series ended :banghead: ), then got back into collecting during RID. Unless some financial problem comes up, I can't imagine not still collecting 10 years from now. I've enjoyed Transformers since the beginning and watched every incarnation of the shows except G2. Collecting is part of an addictive personality (for me at least) and after this long, I just can't see anything else coming along to displace Transformers. My wife doesn't seem to mind, as long as the space they occupy doesn't get out of hand. Before the kids, we had a spare bedroom completely lined with shelving units. With the kids, we have some cabinets with doors to keep the kids out and one antique curio cabinet for the G1s. The boys know that they're "daddy robots." They get to play with all the 1-2-3 gobots that I collected along with the extra Bumblebee activators.

Oh, and appropriately enough to the listener question, I am also going to botcon for the first time and probably for one day only. I'm local to the Orlando area but actually coming back from vacation right before that weekend. Might go to Saturday while the wife and kids are at Magic Kingdom and meet up with them later. Good to hear the various opinions and I'll have to check out the convention threads before I pick a day.

Love the podcast, great to listen to on the way home from work.

^ From what I've seen of G2, you're not missing anything
