Holy fucking shit... that was amazing! I teared up a little while watching it, so awsome. I only do that when I'm watching greatness.

Cloaked figure at the begining is Headmaster I think.

I miss Animated all that much more now. Seeing how great it can be, only twists the knife in deeper. Animated had so much potential, that if it had been done more like this opening..... I can say with little doubt it would replace G1 as my favorite TF series. It's a crime against man kind that it's been killed.

I pray that it's a monster hit in Japan, and they are compelled to make more episodes and toys. Because I miss not being into Transformers.

I've bought 14 Transformers since I saw ROTF.... and 7 of those are Animated figures.

You go Japan!

 

On the one hand, that was a well-made opening and was a delight to watch. I have little doubt that if the series had been a Takara product as some of you seem to be wishing, the series would've probably suffered from Thundercats syndrome which also had a beautiful opening, but was filled with mediocre animation. I really hope that this level of dedication and the other interviews prove true and we get a second chance at any figure Hasbro doesn't release and if it does well enough, all new ones. I'm guessing from the face and very human hands that the shadow figure that we see first is the Headmaster.

On the other hand:

• Completely spoils every major surprise and most of the new characters
• Uses a Megatron model that appears once in the series for less then five minutes.
• Has several nonsense anime cliches, including matrix fire pirme, giant shadow bad man, etc.
• Every episode is going to be trimmed down.
• The episodes are going to air out of order.
• The series is going to be shoehorned into the godawful movie trilogy
• They certainly play up bit characters; half the Autobots barely appear in the entire series.

Makes me seriously wonder if this series isn't going to be a train wreck that makes Japanese BW seems like a quality international transfer.

I really hope this series does well in Japan. If it does, then maybe the series will continue past what the west got to see (like beast wars neo), and we'll see new toys!

Sounds like any other generic anime intro.

 

Did I miss the episode where Prime went Super Sayan and started fighting intergalactic ghost Megatron? Must have been the same episode with the infamous cat fight between Arcee and B.A. Cool as hell, but seriously...WTF on an epic, epic level.

 

I noticed what could be interpretted as nods to past TF intros.

*The silouetted guy at the beginning (maybe Headmaster) looks a lot like Violenjiger from Zone.

*Prime flying up to the darkened bad guy thing looks like when Skyfire and Kicker fly up to meet a giant Galvatron in the Super Link intro.

*At one point JAM Project sings, "Tatakae Transform" ("Fight Transform") which reminded me of the original G1 opening to Tatakae Cho Semiatai Transformer, whose lyrics said, "You can fight, Transformer!"

*Random shots of character fighting one-on-one, plus a group of bad guys assembled around their leader looked a lot like the final opening for Galaxy Force, as well as the opening for Headmasters.

 

so glad this wasn't our intro, if the whole show was spoiled in a min and a half, i wouldn't have kept watching it

 

At my Japan to America and back again comparision of Transformers at TFcon 2009, I pointed out to Derrick Wyatt (Who was in the audience) that while I love Animated, the only thing it lacked was the GAR and Burning Justice that was found in Galaxy Force and the series before it. Still loved it, but it lacked that......... I guess we finally took care of that missing piece. Good times.

So you can have the luxury of seeing the show as originally intended, and with show accurate toys.

pants = jizzed majorly in

rear status = rainbows and unicorns flying out

internal thoughts: Why couldn't we have THAT kind of stuff happening instead of so-so season 2? Cat fight, AWESOME. Slipstream = SEXY as PIT
and more I cannot describe.

U.S. if listening, PLEASE for the love of all that is right give us THAT for S4
