ANYWAYS, I am thankful to the guy who started this topic for saving me, and many others from finding out the hard/bad way about how this turned out. I hope the second batch fixes the issues for you guys.

 

This thread has been incredibly entertaining, and really shows everything I hate about the internet.

Anyways, on topic, I will MOST CERTAINLY never buy the knock-off LD Optimus, Screamer, or any other chromed knock off. I have enough issues with vac-metallized chrome on stuff actually from Hasbro to even bother with apparently inferior work.

 

I want a LD in my collection someday, but between more flaking than Transmetal Rattrap and creeps on eBay sticking this in Henkei Convoy boxes for thousands of dollars, I'll have to go with a different mold, one that I know is actually legit.

I have to admit I'd probably fork out $30 or so for Legends Beachcomber with one gold fist.  

 

I was just about to post feedback about the quality of my RotF Scattorshot toy, and then I came across this thread... Now I'm thinking that I should contact Hasbro first before posting feedback, just to make sure that they are okay with it.

 

 

I usually haaaaate chrome on toys. It never turns out well. For example, I have a chrome headed Destro who's starting to look like George Costanza.

 

Agreed - I also have a hard time seeing why one would drop that much on an imitation Lucky Draw.

The appeal of LDs to me is their rarity, after all.

Sounds like a rushed push to get these moved. I am willing to bet that the quality control will be quite a bit better on the next run.

All in all a good thread to bring the issues to light. I would have probably sent GenZhao a message first to see what I could find out.

 

The underlying color of the plastic isn't the swirly gold with metallic flakes, and that's what you have to worry about with regards to GPS. You can see it in the photos, it's a light brown as far as I can see.

The chrome plating isn't part of the equation.
