No, whatever ^ that is, is from the WFC trailer. This new art is clearly for a TF3 project, probably the tie in game. If it were WFC concept art, Hasbro wouldn't have had it pulled, because WFC concept art has already been freely shown on the net for months now. Though I'd say the biggest clue is the fact a lot of the pieces have Movie Prime in them.
So guys....I had a good night of sleep over this...and I started wondering.. Isn't this all part of the collective misinformation campaign? What are the odds a concept artist working on a video game of one of the most anticipated sequels (give or take) in the industry, who KNOWS he's not allowed to spill info (since it might harm the hype-train, or whatever strategy Hasbro/Paramount/Activision have planned, or because Bay wants to surprise the fans this time), who has unquestionably signed an NDA for his work, who knows he is probably going to have to pay alot of money of he breaches this, who knows he is probably going to get FIRED over this, is going to place this giant lot of artwork on his blog, so somebody who 'happens' to visit the DonMurphy board can find it? part of me still thinks it's for the TF3 video game, another part of me wonders if it might not just be random leftover concept art (from ROTF and other sources, mixed with some extra made content like the Junkion model..probably in free time for fun), they just slapped TF3 names on. Congratulations Bay. Part 2 of misinformation campaign succeeded.
If this was a misinfo campaign by Bay, surely the pics would have been pulled by Hasbro/Paramount, not Hasbro/Activision. Activision's confirmed involvement = video game concepts Movie Prime in many pics = not WFC, but Movieverse Those are the only things we can reasonably infer. As for whether these concepts take from key scenes in the third movie, we can't say, although it's possible. It's also possible the game these concepts are for are somekind of expanded movieverse game, or a TF3 game that doesn't slavishly follow the film plot. Either way, very interesting. And I like the Junkion.
The thread regarding these images on Bay's board has simply disappeared. Its conspicuous absence might be saying more than its moderators intend it to. I can't imagine if this artwork has no connection to TF3 whatsoever, that Bay or his camp would care that they were leaked and completely delete the thread. I don't think Bay's that well coordinated. The last "misinformation campaign" consisted of nothing more than him saying there was a misinformation campaign. A good deal of us bought into it hook, line, and sinker. There's no reason, therefore, to assume they would do anything different this time. Aside from that, this guy is a professional, at least in terms of the jobs he's had if not his conduct regarding NDAs, etc. It would be a waste of time and money to hire him to do a bunch of fake concepts when Bay could simply lie about anything real that happened to get leaked.
Bay's misinformation campaigns in the past have been so childishly stupid that he couldn't have come up with this now... it's just too complicated for the guy. I mean, let's see his past stuff: - "Megatron won't be in the sequel at all": Started saying that well long after concept art and toy protos of ROTF Megatron surfaced. Yeeah, right. - The leaked script for TF3 that was sooo fanwanky and so obviously fake. I mean, Sam telling Bayformer Prime "Oh and Prime? Lose the flames?". Reeaaally. And there were plenty other hoaxes, none were too intelligent. I believe this is from TF3, or is from the TF3 game, in either case - since so far both Activision games have very closely followed the story of the movies, and it is very unlikely that they can afford another TF Game before the 2011 movie and after WFC, I say that TF3 will be about Unicron and visiting other planets. Most likely, Sam, Mikaela and the other "important" humans will go with the Bots.
making sense on the internet . if that is for the game they could be raising the bar on this one which could be why it was leaked a fellow junkie got ahold of it
its got to be mixed shots from both games tf3 and wfc. there has been so much cool stuff to see lately
I agree the misinformation campaign from last movie was pretty stupid, and easy to see through. I don't think they hired the concept artist to do fake concepts, I think it's just leftover material they had, so it wouldn't cost too much time to whip up. The forest art could be from any random game, they just slapped a picture of Prime in there. Shot of the Nemesis? Leftover from ROTF. Protoforms? Don't look like the ones from movie 1 or 2, so it might be early material or not TF related at all. The mechanical structure/temple in the dark? Could be original concept for The Fallen's throne from ROTF. The Junkion? Probably a model somebody made for fun. And why do some of the art pieces look different in style? Why would a concept artist in this position be stupid enough to post all that online if it was real? Who knows, maybe Bay did have a meeting with Hasbro/Paramount/Activision or whatever..trying to ramp up the game a notch. Let misinformation actually BE misinformation this time. Isn't it funny that, since we all believe Bay can't do anything to misinform the TF fans (since he couldn't do it last time), we automatically believe this is 'real'? Last movie around, the leaks actually were subtle..little 100x100 images of Sideswipe concept art somebody managed to sneak through. This is just way too open. Not saying it's definitely 100% misinformation campaign, but like I said, I have my doubts why the artist would do such a thing - he would know the risk. It's entirely possible the team talked with Activision and the concept artist, and deliberately leaked this stuff under his name. He might still be working on the team on REAL stuff. I guess we will have to see for now.
Some people don’t still believe in the “misinformation” campaign, do they? The fact that all mentions of this concept art has been completely removed from the official Michael Bay website should tell you all you need to know. They’re real.
That's pretty crazy seeing that pretty much every games studio nowadays has the employee sign an NDA upon entry, and explicitly state that they can't reveal info or files until the company decides it is time. ESPECIALLY when you are working on TF3. I..I just don't get it.
If we do see Junkion in the 3rd film, I'm having terrible premonitions that it's going to end up being the 'Planet of the Twins'....*shudders*
Judgeing by the picture of the Junkion City, I'd say they'd at least be a bit more advanced than the last apperance.
I get the impression it is possibly unused concept art, still property of Hasbro even though not used in production of the game. However, I'd like to think that the studio has started development of the game and are possibly setting their own direction rather than waiting for details of the movie storyline.
I must be stupid cause i cant see or find any of what you are talking about...it all looks like earth ruins or fantasy stuff...can someone repost a link for me?
My theory is it's unused concept art from one of the previous games, but coincidentally very similar to the direction they may take TF3 in.
