Update 2010/09/12 : Return Of The Transformers: Hunt For The Decepticons Books

A Google search for "Transformers: Hunt for the Decepticons" led me to an interesting discovery. It appear that there are books with the same title to be released later this year by HarperCollins.
Not sure whether these are written by official authors or not. But a release date (21/07/2010) matches with Hasbro's official "Transformers: Hunt for the Decepticons" campaign (New Transformers Iniative for the Hasbro Channel "Hunt for the Decepticons" - Transformers News Fall 2010)

EDIT : A quick search proved that the authors are official. They've worked for Hasbro on previous occasions too.

    The two books are
Transformers: Hunt for the Decepticons - Satellite Meltdown By Lucy Rosen
Transformers: Hunt for the Decepticons - Ratchet to the Rescue By Jennifer Frantz

There maybe more books, but these are the only ones I could find. If there are more, let us know...

EDIT : More books found at Amazon
Transformers: Hunt for the Decepticons - Buddy Brawl By Lucy Rosen

Am I the only one wishing the Transformers would get more novels? I know the Keeper trilogy wasn't that good and half the Legends stories sucked, but I'd still like to read them while I'm sitting on the pooper.

It's hard for me to get excited for them if they're intended for grade school children.

So they're just a bunch of kid books then.

Question. Does anyone on this forum care about these? I mean, unless you're parents and want to buy them for your kid, but like for just regular collectors. Is there a collecting market for these that I don't know about?

I care about them considering I like seeing Guido Guidi and Marcelo Matere's take on the Bayformers. Also, I was a little surprised previewing Ratchet's book that his best friend is Sideswipe (and suddenly Cyber Missions makes sense).

Well, Cyber Missions was created for the kids. What you say is correct. This does prove the possibility that Cyber Missions script writers may have taken a good look at these books before writing their own stories. It explains a lot. It explains the simpleness, why some characters associate with each other (Ratchet-Sideswipe, Bumblebee-Ironhide) though the Toy Bios link them with another etc. etc.

Very cool, thank you for sharing!

The Satellite one (I think) has been sitting by the TFs on a spinning display thing for a while at the Walmart nearest me. I didn't realize there was so little information out there about them online.

Ratchet and Sideswipe is a bit odd, but considering Jolt isn't in TF3 they may have decided it was not worthwhile portraying a relationship that wasn't going anywhere. Ironhide and Bumblebee is easily justifiable considering they lifted the Furby truck, and Jazz is dead.
