Smokescreen, because he's awesome! Grimlock and Skywarp are close seconds.

Grimlock, though Optimus and Starscream are very close second and thirds.

    For Autobots, I'd say Jazz.
Jazz had personality AND style in the cartoons, and in G1 toy's, he had the coolest look.
For Decepticons, I'd say Cyclonus was my favorite.
Don't remember much of his personality, but he was an awesome looking jet.

Soundwave. Loved how he couldn't actually fight, just said 'Ravage, Pursue her'

The one and only Optimus Prime.

He epitomises what a hero should be and he treats his soliers as his friends :2c:

For Deepticons....Soundwave of course, he is cold calculating and above all has the most military use in the form of strategic importance. he is head of a small spy network, he is communications officer and his earth alt mode at least for the 80's made him the perfect info gatherer.

For Autobots I would go with Springer mainly for his excellent lines in the movie. His triple changerness, and of course he wasa constant "hey rodimus could you stop being emo and be a leader please" advice.

I'm only quoting the 'bot himself. You'll have to ask him if he thinks he's a coward.
