Special thanks to you sir! You're trick worked like a charm, and thanks for checking out my WIP.

I am seriously loving this concept. It's totally off the beaten trail! Smooth sculpting and I love the jagged blades as the neck fur. EPIC!

    03-02-2010 update!

Some big changes, though you really can't tell by the pictures.
*Remade the rear legs (neoshifter ball joint socket cracked) using scout class Dunerunner legs/pelvis. - epoxied scratch made metal joints to upper thighs of Dune runner then sculpted legs with Milliput.
*Added more putty to neck to seal up gaps
*Made back piece by filling area with clay, then layering a sheet of Milliput over it, letting it cure, then cutting/shaping it to fit. Used twist ties as joints so this plate can be shifted up and out of the way.
*Sculpted butt, waiting for it to cure to sand/shape

Robot mode is essentially the same so here are pictures detailing the work in Giraffe mode. Should be wrapping up sculpting on this guy this week, so, the paint job will be the tough part...ahhh....so many spots.

Are you going to do anything for those front legs? I like the way they fold up now in robot mode, however they're soooooo close to being either really nice shoulder cannons or fold down over the back piece to be a sweet jetpack...I dunno, just throwing ideas out there. Your sculpting is amazing, and I eagerly await a painted product!

I was originally planning something like that, but because of the sculpting on them, they can't bend too much, but I am planning on them being back mounted cannons that can be fired when he's on all fours in robot mode, kind of like Jango Fett in that scene in the Star Wars prequels where he shoots his back mounted rocket by going on all fours.

Alright, so here's what I was thinking I could do, some sort of artillery mode, kind of like Mixmaster from ROTF, but without having to do any kind of transformation.

    pics.

I like it, I would say the only thing I would do is to pose him up on the tips of his toes and arms (nose? beast head? lol), just bend those joints down a little, so it gives him an almost spider-looking pose. Would look a smidge better than being on his knees. Otherwise I think it looks really cool. If you could make the paint job look like dark on the ends of the cannons, so in beast mode it looks like spots and in robot mode it looks like blast-back from the cannon (like the carbon buildup or something) it would be AMAZING!

That's exactly what I was thinking  ) I added hooves to all the feet, and the cannon hooves are gonna look like front gun sites and be brownish/dark in robot mode.
