Which reminds me, how did Bumble Bee lose his voice after it was repaired at the end of the first movie. Also, when Frenzy got separated from his body by Mikaela's chainsaw, he "instantly" got a whole new body, just by touching the Allspark, so why wasn't Bumble Bee's voice fixed after he spent the several minutes fiddling with the thing?

I think the toy designers already got their ideas together, just a matter of whether or not Hasbro drops the $ to produce it. I remember the promo pics for the toy showed the box thingies on the sides of his knee so it could fold away (making it even MORE accurate). Guess it got cut for cost. Add it back, plus TF1 articulated hands, and the buster OP gun feature... I'd buy it.
My biggest fear here is that they may change too much, where it is glaringly obvious, without explanation. Although the Camaro in ROTF looked pretty awesome compared to TF1, the lack of explanation behind the alteration pissed me the heck off. (Don't get me started as to why the Chevy badge was black and red in the grill of the vehicle, but still gold in robot... and numerous other stuff). I just would like to know why these changes were made in the movie. WHY do they even have to change for the movie if the models are already complete?

Plus, missing here is any indication of whether or not Ratchet or Ironhide will be receiving vehicle updates being that GM no longer will build them and therefore not need the marketing.
There was an explanation but it was never put in the movie: he was so damaged from the battle in mission city that he got an upgrade from ratchet... or...something along those lines...

Its pretty simple. They just want to make new toys for Optimus & Bumblebee since in TF3 they know hasbro pretty much milked the molds of bb and prime. FANS are unlikely to buy another LC prime based on ROTF. So they have to make a new one. Its funny how you can make Prime more heroic - Add the American flag? But that's patriotic. Anyways its more of hasbro wanting to create new toys and Bay thought he had grown tired of how they look so he needed to change the look of the bots.

They didn't use it because it looked like crap and Josh Nizzi's design of Jet Prime looked worlds better.

Also, on the matter of Skids and Mudflap being racist...If in some twisted world robots were real and Skids and MUdflap really were like that, would we be calling them racist? No we wouldn't because that's who they areand they're being themselves. But because its in a movie and that's their character, its automatically ok to assume they're attempting to be racist and offend thousands of people.

Seriously chill out, theyre robots. That's who they are. You don't walk up to someone who talks like that in real life and tell them they're being racist, do you?

Maybe they'll have to make a new Deluxe BB mold! :lol

Optimus' new design being "more heroic" sounds cool. I hope the new Leader mold (since there more than likely will be one) is even better than this year's one!

More armour for Optimus please.  It'd just happen to tie in with making him look more "badass" and heroic as the article says too. Wouldn't surprise me if he got trailer armour as well. The article contradicts itself though as it says only fans will notice the changes but says they are 'badass' which would imply a noticeble amount of differences to the exisiting Prime and BB models.

Oh come on... you see him turn from a rustbucket, into a brand spanking new car, but a couple minor cosmetic changes need the movie to be stopped to address it?

I'm not sure if I think this is a good idea or not.

On one side, it'd be cool to see a little bit of re-designing, but ONLY if it was subtle.

On the other side, there could be just no explanation for this make-up in TF3 at all (kinda like Bumblebee changing car modes between TF1 and TF2). What I'm a little worried about is Bumblebee, to be honest. When they were working on TF3, they had a bunch of concepts going that had him changing into an orange Camaro convertible, or a black-with-yellow-stripes Camaro. I like the traditional yellow-with-black Camaro, and I hope they don't radically change Bumblebee too much.
The robot mode (and alternate mode as well) is a lot of what makes up the character. For some reason, I feel like Bee and Prime won't have consistent character if their robots modes change or alter (this is even more true for their alternate modes).

I really hope you're right. But then again, this is Michael Bay, who's managed to get away with racial stereotyping, racism, sex jokes, sexism, etc. in just about all of his films, IMO.
