Well, for symmetry, I have to post an Autobot here... let's go with Outback. What did he even really do, really?

And as for a Decepticon, Trypticon was pretty disappointing, got beaten by Wheelie and Daniel.

G1 Cartoon Megatron like this video shows

YouTube - Megatron was such a loser

"Seriously... this guy spread terror throughout the galaxy... how? Galvatron couldn't arrive fast enough. "

Comic G1 Megs is all right in my opinion.

It's even worse than that because he takes pictures that have to be printed out for the other robots to see the pictures. So he's just a glorified Polaroid camera who got his butt kicked in every fight.

Trypticon. Hr's supposed to be the be-all and end-all of Decepticon force...and his track record isn't that hot in well...most continuities, including the comics.

I almost went with Kickback, for obvious reasons when you compare him to the other two Insecticons.

I can't say I found any of them to be disappointing considering that the cartoon was meant to return to the status quo by the end of each episode. Of course the bad guys are going to run, and the good guys will stand there cheering, crack a joke, group laugh, and cut to the end credits.

If I had to say anything was disappointing, it would be the remaining Decepticons in Season 3. All of the focus went towards the new guys (though it makes sense, selling toys and whatnot). I would have liked to have seen more Stunticon action in Season 3. More of Blitzwing getting kicked off the team. More of Octane getting thrown into Blitzwing's storyline.

The only intereting thing that really happened to any of the new characters, in my opinion, was when Starscream possessed them. I loved the idea that he was hiding out within the Sweeps for a period of time. Shame they only really brought it up in two, maybe three episodes. It should have been done from the start and gone on through the entire season, but you know... hindsight and all.

The Sunbow cartoon Shockwave. He could have been so, so much more (compare with Marvel Comics Shockwave).

    Galvatron.

He started out a great villain in the movie and Target 2006. Then both series had him go insane. The comic version was at least a challenging villain, exhibiting some intelligence but the cartoon version was an idiot. What a waste. Then I'm not a fan of the cartoon, especially the horrendous season 2.

Even now IDW have taken him and turned him crazy. He was one of the few of their character revamps I liked and now they're sending them down the crazy route again.

Although Megatron is a pretty pathetic leader, I at least enjoy his antics from time to time. Reflector is just lame.

G1 Megatron, he keeps a Decepticon who wants to usurp his position (and being quite obvious while doing so) in the highest form of command for an underling, his plans usually end up failing given the fact he has been ruling a galaxy for over 9 million years surely enough time to see what plans work and what doesn't, his alt. mode is really impractical when used in combat. I'm not convinced he was a menacing and intelligent figure in the series just a stereotypical 80's villain

I was so tempted to give number 1 position to Starscream not only because I hated him in the series (we'll be here forever if I posted the "why") but I have to admit given the fact Megatron's the leader you'd think he'd have a better idea on who to trust and who not to trust in order to effectively lead a battalion of warriors.
