I was 6 when G1 first aired. First TF was Sideswipe (which my dad bought). Then BW came and sparked my interest in TFs once again (still have the entire season 1 set, finding seasons 2 and 3 is a pain). And I bought the first 2 seasons of G1 (25th anniversary reissue) yesterday. :D

My mom watched it in the 80's. She recorded a couple random episodes and bought the movie. So my bro and I come along in the late 80's and early 90's respectively. So she turned the TV before taking us to school to Transformers reruns, we watched the hell out of that movie (It got to the point where we had to buy a second copy of the movie). I also remember owning a the transforming Bumblebee keychain. We could even recite every line of the movie by the time I was in 2nd grade (Damn. We were destined to become nerds :p ). So yeah. Beast Wars comes along a few years later, followed by Beast Machines. It was around RID when we slowed down. Then Armada comes along and we get into it (Well, the toys. I didn't get back into watching the series until Galaxy Force, and when I couldn't find anymore GF subs, then Cybertron).

Like many of you, I was at that magic age when G1 debuted. I was in 1st grade getting ready for school when I first saw the animated commercial for the Marvel comics series that an earlier poster had linked from YouTube. I had owned a handful of GoBots prior to Transformers, but when I finally did get my first TF toys-- Rumble and Ravage plus Huffer-- there was no going back to GoBots! I watched the cartoon, and bought the toys and comics religiously all the way up to and including Actionmasters. The demise of G1 pretty much coincided with my shifting of interests due to adolescence; I traded my childhood Cybertronian friends in for cars, music, and girls. That said, Transformers weren't totally dead to me; I had the benefit of having two younger brothers who were still very much into Tranfsformers, so I did get a lot of hands-on time with the G2 stuff.

When Beast Wars was released, I didn't much care for it, but it slowly grew on me, and I found myself buying a Beast Wars toy occasionally. Actually, from Beast Wars on forward, I have been a "selective collector"; with the exception of RID, Alternators, and Animated, of which I have been largely a completionist. My wife, who was my girlfriend since the time of Beast Wars, has always been supportive of my hobby. I think that helped me be comfortable in enjoying something that many adults would scoff at as merely being "kid's toys".

So, in a nutshell, with the exception of G2, I've pretty much been along for the entire Transformers ride, with varying degrees of enthusiasm.

I was 9 and I saw an episode or two of Armada. It was cool, I guess. Went to stay at my Grandmas house for 2 days while my parents were moving our stuff into out new house (still livin' here) and while at my grandmas, I got Armada Supercon Optimus. I was hooked until Energon.

Then, Transformers (07) came out, and the rest, is history.

TFTM started it all for me. I'd never seen G1 or heard of BM/BW.

What got me back started back in 02' was a friend on aol told me about some TF's he had and that I could get them back if I wanted them. So I bought all of the commerative line that was out back then. So I would say commerative line really got me going into TF's this long but before that I collected them as a kid from watching the cartoon on tv.

Armada Starscream started my collection, October 24, 2008. I always loved that mold since then, despite of all his flaws.

Loved the cartoon. Got back into it when I saw the DVDs at Best Buy and my then-boyfriend got them for me to cheer me up. The rest is history.

Back in good ol' '96 I saw the two-pack of Bat Primal and Croc Megatron hitting toy shelves. I knew about G1 prior but I was a boy whose first exposure to transforming robots were the animalistic Power Rangers Zords. I couldn't care much for vehicle transformers, but the Beast Wars idea really intrigued me.

As such, a while after getting the two-pack, Beast Wars started to air on a local channel. Boy was I hooked! I became a Transformers fan there and then. As such, you can say that Kenner's revival worked and I was part of the new generation of TF fans.

Another honorable mention is the 2007 movie. I had given up Transformers for some time (since Beast Machines started) but the 2007 movie brought me back into it. However I only really started collecting again when ROTF came out.

I got into Transformers by watching the 2007 movie, but i think i even saw one episode of the unicron trilogy when i liked power rangers, and my dad said power ranger kinda copied off of transformers. Then, for my birthday, i got FAB OP, BB, and Blackout. I liked em, but i put them away for a year. then i played with them again, went online, searched transformers, found this website, found TF: the game, found TFA, and then Christmas came up in 2008,
and i got movie landmine, bunches of animated toys, and then March or may was it? i got ROTF toys. One day i bought a G1 OP, an RID figure, and got G1 Grapple from my friend. whoa. Then i kept buying regualary, or however you spell that. Then Christmas 09 i got ROTF Devastator, and alot of other stuff, including ROTF the game for XBOX 360. then just recently i got ROTF Bludgeon and Dirge, while i was on the unt for lil' devy. I've been searching for him for 4 weeks at walmart. its sooooooo screwin up my life.

I've never seen that commercial, and it's obviously the comics version of the characters.

I have a pretty typical story. Into G1 as a child, always kinda interested in what was going on, bought a few toys here and there but not really in it, then universe classics comes out and I'm hooked. Been totally obsessed since.

The thing things that got me started in TFs was the big hype on the TV for them in 1984. I was only 7 years old and they made a huge impact on me.

In 1996 I had fallen out of the groove with TFs as most of us had then I watched an episode of BW and it started all over again.

It all started in 3rd grade when my friend, at the time, was selling random toys. Some looked like "fake" Transformers and the only "real" one was Armada Hotshot. That was the first time I had ever saw a Transformer. He gave it to some other kid for free.

From then on I started collecting and watching Armada toys then Energon then Cybertron.
