    I have two questions.

What kind of vehicle does Icepick turn into?

Are the PowerCore Combiners from the two packs pretty big deluxes?

It could be that - it might also be a smaller underground mining machine that also used a wheel for stone quarring and there's also vehicles with wheels like he has that dig narrow pits for laying pipes and cables.

It looks like a wheels with teeth rather than a wheel with buckets on it to me.

    ---------

I did notice a sort of slight problem though - it might work selling extra minicons on their own - but Extra limbs might be a bit boring if sold without a leader.

But the 2 packs are themed around ideas that the 5 packs currently lack such as Construction.

Perhaps they could make them in packs of 3 1 Minicon, 1 arm and 1 leg ? or 1 minicon and legs or one minicon and arms ?

I think selling them as just limbs would be very dull - so the only other thing to hope for is that the 5 packs cover the relevent themes.

But as someone's pointed out these guys are the sort of thing One can see Takara repainting as promotional items.

We've got a list of all the PC, WFC & Generations stuff at the Hub (with links to other people's photos): The Hub - Powercore Combiner, War For Cyberton & Generations

Anyone else notice that Searchlight in the Toyfair pics seems to be teamed with Caliburst rather than Backwind ?

His proper minicon is seen in his in pack shots though.

I wonder if they will sell all the minicons seperately and just change the color of the transluscent plastic on them.

    ----

I wish someone has asked hasbro why WFC Optimus Bumblebee etc... don't have the weapons they use in the game ?

Eh, I wasn't expecting much from Toy Fair. I already own MP Grimlock and Henkei Thrust. So the only figures I am remotely interested in are PCC Huffer and Generations Drift.

Hopefully Hasbro is saving the good stuff for Botcon. Like Classics Jazz and Wheeljack.

"Hello, we're Hasbro. We have the resources, knowledge, and potential to give fans exactly what they want. However, a lot of fans seem to really enjoy buying up pure crap like Power Core Combiners (which doesn't cost us much to produce! Heh, we got Transformers fans to buy non-Transforming toys) so we're certainly not going to stop saving money by putting our resources into what fans really say they want. Thanks, sheep, for voting with your wallets!"

^ Developing a whole new subline doesn't cost anything? So I guess it's trivial to create an Automorphing limb for a robot at a Legends-like scale?

I'm not going to buy many, if any, PCCs either but that doesn't mean you have to flame your fellow fans. Hell, this whole line exists to showcase new engineering; it includes no "cash cow" characters and it ties in with neither a movie nor a show. Whether you like it or not, many fans DO like that; it's what the G1 line was based around, before they ever made "repeats" of characters.

If anything it was a risk to develop and market this line.

I am pretty excited about the new games figures and the power core combiners. The grimlock I really hate TRU got it as a exclusive cause I no longer have a TRU near me. But so far, I am pretty excited to be a TF fan right know.

I love how there's going to be a gazillion different Transformers related items in the upcoming year, from Generations to PCC to Movie to WFC to Masterpiece to Alternity to Star Wars to Marvel, and a couple of people are STILL BITCHING.

    Pretty sad, actually. :)

I understand if some/alot of the things aren't exactly your tastes but some people are treating this as a huge letdown, or if somehow all the stuff they've announced isn't enough. Or as if Hasbro is being lazy.

Most of this stuff is awesome to me. Drift has me conflicted, he looks like a fun toy, but what's up with his face? It looks like Tigatron had sex with Jay Leno or something. Despite that, if he's as good as he looks from the neck down, i'll be picking him up.
Not digging Voyager Prime and "Elita-one" is just a barely repainted Chromia. Which sucks as Hasbro said it would be a retool of the other bikes, which implies a new bot using parts from both.
Loving the Power Core Combiners, although i am slightly disappointed by the fact that they're movie figures. Nevertheless, picking them up.
WfC Prime and Megs will be mine. Not sure about Bee yet.
    Thrust = bought.
Straxus looks like he'll have all of Universe Galvatron's problems. I hope i'm wrong on this. I'm also somewhat confused by the fact that his chest deco is based off a coloring error as opposed to the red chest he had in the comics.
Grimlock... So far the Masterpiece line hasn't done much for me, they're not as great as they're made out to be. Grimlock looks fine though, maybe i'll use him as my Classics Grimmy.

I'm actually not bitching this year about Transformers. On the contrary, I'm thanking Hasbro for making very little this year thats worthwhile buying so I can save my money for other things.

Seaspray is a definite buy for me, as is the Generations Bumblebee, and I'm definitely picking up the cool little Hubcap dood, although I'm not real happy with the head mold on Hubcap. Hasn't that head been used before?

    Toy Fair 2010 Gallery/hasbro/hasbro-transformers/IMG_3083

Everything else is just the same fare of bland repaints, gimmicks, and dull attempts at something new. So thats 3 toys this year. Last year it was less than a dozen. Eventually there won't be anything worthy to buy, unless the TF: Prime figures are of TF: Animated quality, then we'll talk.

Oh and something amusing caught my eye browsing the Toyfair pictures:

    MASSIVE OVERBITE!!! :lolol
