So, i know it's been said already, but i thought i might comment. In the original post, the power core five-packs have a scout figure like the one that comes in the two pack but the 'limbs' are legends vehicles. There is no mention of them having robot modes.... this is really upsetting.... I was looking forward to a new team of aerialbots, not superion and silverbolt with four planes....

There's no smiley to describe my reaction....

um... those are all the old pictures that have been here for awhile...

this! its 20 bucks, cheap enough for parents to afford, and fun for kids to want... which makes sense, since KIDS are the biggest consumer of transformers...

    yeah, what Sammael said...

well, hasbro has a budget, everything needs to fit into that... and if they made a combiner toy set that was 100 bucks, most parents wouldn't be able to afford it... Hasbro knows fans have been wanting combiners... so they're working them in how they can, under the budget they've got...

some people do love automorph, it may not be your thing, but some people like it... and i do think Omega Supreme (energon, if that's what you meant) is a combiner. i don't know where you got your "official" transformers gestalt definition, but i think a combiner is anything that, you know, COMBINES... but maybe that's just me...

and i do believe there are TWO styles of transformation for the scouts... see the attached image featuring bruticus... look at the Left arm and the right leg... they both look like the same scout (indicating at least one vehicle will be duplicated) and the arm extends out and has the claw fist, while the leg is still basically connected as a tank, with a small part that (probably) autotransforms and flips out to be the toes...

i don't think its anyone lowering their standards... would i love a classic style scramble city combiner, with 5 individual vehicles and robots? hell yeah, but i also understand the business end of it and that's cool... i'm still very excited for this line...

see, i think you're hitting the point... the main CORE robot is all part of that power core action...

you know every TF fan in hungary? so, the entire country has roughly 10 million people, lets say 1% are trans fans, that means you know all 100,000 of them? that's a bit ridiculous... maybe people bought the legends devastator because its cheaper then the supreme?

Definitely some good news, but definitely some bad news from this. I'm still interested in the PCC's, but it would have been really nice if the limb-bots had bot-modes of their own. I'm not sure if I'll still consider the limb-bots as separate characters. On one hand I'll most likely keep them in gestalt-mode all the time, but on the other hand it feels weird considering them separate bots when they're just vehicles that turn into limbs.

I could definitely see them using the new Huffer mold to make a Motormaster in a 5-pack, and with they way the limb-bots are, it wouldn't be hard to come up with different alt-modes, but keep the same basic structure to them. I find the price of the PCC's really nice.

It's nice to see that the Activators are continuing on past Animated. It'll be intersting to see what incarnations of the characters we'll get. Could realistically be movie, classics-ish, or even WfC themed designs.

Can't wait to see some pictures of all the new TF's we'll be getting this year. Hopefully we'll get a good look at the PCC's.

Toy Fair starts tomorrow, so I wouldn't expect any more information, or any pictures, till then.

Today IS Hasbro's "Fan-Collector Media Event", though. I don't know what sites have representatives there, but TFWIKI's got some men on the scene, and I think TFormers does too. It begins with a presentation at 1pm, after which attendees are allowed into Hasbro's showroom. So we'll be hearing SOMETHING later.

Ah, didn't know that. Depending on how long the event lasts, and how long it takes people to get information up, it could be a good while after 1pm. It also depends on what they allow. It could very well be a no-camera type of thing.

Personally, I'm going to get away from the computer for a while, so I don't senselessly stress myself out waiting for information, lol.

No robot mode for combiner limbs = suck. I was excited for these, but not so much anymore.

The official event doesn't begin until 1pm EST (USA). We should start seeing things a little after that.

Should be interesting to see what they can do with a character in different size classes. For example they make Optimus as a deluxe/voyager/leader thier are bound to be many variables between the three. It also gives buyers/collectors more options. Both space and price wise.

Well, I'll be picking up the Power Core Combiner two-packs, but I don't think I'll be touching the five-packs. Just not interested in Gestalts that don't have all their modes... same reason I didn't pick up Supreme Devastator. Just not my cup of tea... and while I get what some peeps are saying about them being one Scout with five minicons... I still don't think that excuses the fact that the minicons should be able to have vehicle, limb and robot modes if the two-pack minicons can have four different modes. Well, I'll just vote with my wallet... besides... the Energon/Universe/RotF Gestalts are excellent with the Crossfire upgrades that FansProject are putting out. Now if only they'd do something for Devastator!

On a side note... the only time in recent history that I think Hasbro has actually got it right was back during RID with the Build & Bullet Train Teams... and Hasbro has said that the Bullet Train Team (which got the combiner concept the most right... even if not a traditional five man team) was overly expensive to produce. So... I guess I can see where Hasbro is coming from some times... still, I'd like to see them try at traditional Scramble City combiners again.

Oh well, hopefully some more interesting news will come out from toyfare. Cool info on the Power Core Combiners for those of you that want them though.
