    Miramax films closed it's doors

If you wanted to see Godzilla Vs Biollante free from Miramax, you wish has been granted!! On January 28 2010, Miramax finally closed it's doors for good after Disney decided not to renew it's contract & They will put their catalog of films for auction soon!!

Links Disney Closes Miramax | /Film

Now if you a Godzilla vs Biollante & other Asian film fans this is good news, whom had seen this films either uncut or withheld by the Weinsteins(Fmr. owners of Miramax).

But still is sad for some people who lost their jobs!!

I would love to see ClassicMedia pick up the distribution rights on Godzilla vs.Biollante. They have done a real good job with DVD releases for some of the Godzilla movies.

G vs. B is way overdue for DVD release here! Whichever studio gets the rights, I hope they don't sit on it like Miramax.

Doesn't seem right to celebrate the liquidation of a company. And one that has produced some great films in their history.

I'd love to know how that worked... wouldn't it be simpler to just not buy the film rights in the first place?

Disney keep giving them a check, EVEN when Miramax knew they weren't going distribute it in the first place for fear it would flop on VHS or DVDs!!

Godzilla vs Biollante has always been my favorite kaiju film, if this means we can actually get a legit release of it all the better.

The big news here is that Miramax has been closed and they've been behind some of the best stuff Hollywood has put out in the last two decades.

I agree. Sad to see Miramax go.
Don't really care for films of someone in a rubber suit.

not really anymore...as the final "new" PR ended. Now all we got is remastered Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

But Disney does own Marvel now...and there's a lot of characters in rubber/spandex/etc suits.

I know, right? And instead of a decent thread we get this crappy thing instead.

No justice in this world. None at all.

Definitely surprised to hear Miramax is shutting down. Couldn't care less about the Godzilla films or whatever else is going on here.
