What's the release date of the 2-pack? I'll be strolling down to TRU to pick it up.

You mean not available in Japan? That doesn't make sense.

im good with the faceplated buster prime i have. and i dont love jetfire enough to buy another one.

question to those keeping him MISB. how do you deal with the battery leaking after a while? how long til the battery messes up the toy?

    thanks?

One recently said you can't in another thread. But I have no idea how you determine who really knows and who doesn't.

Also- does every battery eventually leak? (not that it's something you'd want to leave to chance)

It won't always leak but it will start to mold. I believe it is the white powdery stuff. I've had that happen to many tv remotes.

I too, will be buying this one. After seeing how cool the buster prime is, I want this version with a battle plate version too.

As for battery leakage, I guess it pays to open them?

So far yes. It's like the reissues of some of the Masterpiece and TFC figures, available in Asia but not Japan.

The whole packaging is in English, even Buster Prime's instructions have the Japanese on the original in English (which the original single Japanese release has them in Japanese not English). Though it is a TakaraTomy release, it's made for countries outside of Japan but not in the US.

Yeah so far the set is supposed to be outside Japan Asian market release. As you know, in Japan, Buster Prime didn't sell that well to warrant another release, and original Jetfire is still available at almost half the price online, so I don't think the 2 pack will have general release there soon, if ever.

If you are a MISB collector there is no way you can remove the batteries from the figure, with out opening the box (In the case of leader Prime). Batteries will leak overtime, it is a matter of how much time. It could happen right away, after a couple years or after a couple of decades. I bought a MISB Optimal Optimus a year or so ago and the batteries had exploded inside of the battery compartment. Luckily I was able to clean it out and the only visible damage was a little rust on one of the battery connectors, but it can cause plastic discoloration, rust and damage to the electronics altogether.

As a rule of thumb, once my toys are past the fiddling stage and go on the display shelf, I remove the batteries. The best suggestion I can make is if you are a MISB collector and you plan on keeping a figure for a long time (years) I suggest opening it and removing the batteries then return the figure to the packaging. If you sell in the future, just be honest and do not try and make it seem like it has never been opened, after all it is better to have a toy in mint condition in opened packaging then having a broken toy in mint packaging.

I'm interested in the set, but I'm also going to wait and see if Hasbro puts out their own version of the Buster remold. Additionally, while the normal plated-mouth head looks cool, the single-relese Buster Prime's mouthed remolded head is the only normal transforming toy of Movie Prime with his mouth exposed.

Actually here in both TRU's almost everything sold out over the Xmas rush. I can't find a single Leader class anything right now. Buster Prime was clogging up the shelves for a bit, but now....gone. Deluxe Bumblebee and Henkei Dinobot seem to be doing the peg-warming now.

Edit: Where is it stated that it won't be released in Japan? On BBTS, the box with the Japanese Sticker looks exactly like everything else that's been released here so far. I just don't get how it won't be coming out here...

very cool! thanks for suggesting this.

though i don't plan on selling the MISB buster prime, i really just want to keep one in the box for nerdiness. i'll give it 6 months then out the box he goes.

I'd probably have gotten both eventually anyway - I've put off buying a blue tinged Jetfire though so far because of the twin pack.

If i'm going to pay a premium price for one I don't want to over pay for a Bog standard Optimus or Jetfire neither of which i've bought yet.

    $109.00 where ?

I'd be interested in any where that worked out less than £100.00 sterling for the pair shipped though if anyones got any ideas ?

Where did you here that? My friend could not find one for me last week in Tokyo.

Back to the subject, I'm glad that I got a single box Buster Prime. Word from my friend is that Buster Prime in Japan is a single run and no more is being produced. So the single box version may be unique as it is and whats available from online retailers may be the last chance to get it at a decent price.

Not that past events necessarily dictate what will happen in the future, but do we know if the Chrome ?Battle? Prime from the last movie had more than one run?

They really are very similar products. I would think the only real change in demand would be a general change in demand from the last movie (if there was a change). Of course at this moment I'm just talking out of my ass.

Do you know how much was the price for Buster Op before he sold out? Just being curious, as I scored one for a bit over 4000yen online :)
If anyone you know in Japan are interested, leader Prime (regular) and Jetfire are still available at amazon jp. for almost half the price like I said.

As for your question, I think PoweredConvoy answered it (which I didn't know, thank you for the info, Randy :) )

Just from various message boards and my Japanese buddies.
The 07 movie Japanese premium version (was he called Battle mode or something? I forgot) sold out really quickly compared to Buster. Though this is only my speculation, TakTom might have increased the production number for Buster OP, since all online shops once sold out their preorders, then had some more once the figure was out.
Judging by firehawc_69's post, your friend was a little too late. Sounds like you have at least one, so congrats :D
