BBC News - China shopping centre builds 'car park for women' I especially love the different sense of distance bit.
LOL, so it's not just asian female drivers in the US. Seriously though, I read a study that indicated that women's depth perception is not as good as men's. The parking spaces and roads in China are very narrow. Everyone, not just women, have trouble parking in those tiny spaces.
"How much blinker I need to cut across nine lane of traffic? Eight second? Okay, I turn now! Good luck, everybody!" ~Asian female driver; Family Guy
The best women drivers in my life are also good, intelligent, and generally good people. The worst ones are dumb and sketchy people. The same could be said for males in that respectful ones are fine, but assholes are assholes on and off the road. Personalities and short-comings translate to various aspects of what we do. Women just get that reputation because it's convenient I guess. All I know is that insurance companies ding single/divorced men on rates more than same-status women.
Female and Asian??!! Holy shit this seems to be a set up for some sexist/racist jokes... ...oh, I see most of them have already been made. End of Line
'Painted in pink and light purple to appeal to female tastes?' Orlynao? Well, they managed to pick the two colours that I -speaking as a girl- hate the most, so that part didn't go so well. How about the rest: 'Wider than normal spaces'? 'Different sense of distance'? Mistake number two. Why do they assume we need larger spaces? Obviously they've never seen my Mum park. She could park anywhere without a problem getting in or out - or making a problem for anyone else, either. Seriously, I think she's the best in our family at parking. 'The bays have extra lighting' Eh, what? 'Installed signs and security monitoring equipment that corresponded more to women's needs' Eh... No, you've really lost me now... This has got to be the most ridiculous thing i've read in a long time. Amusing, as I can sit here and laugh at whoever it was that approved it. But ridiculous. [End of rant]
Speaking as a women sometimes I would really like a bigger "car parking space" so that I can fit my "car" into it more easily. IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
