The scene on the Nemesis prety much explains that all. After Megatron's resurrection and he goes back to the nemesis he tells the Fallen "I have failed you" and that the Matrix is destroyed", and that "our civilization will perish". So that tells you the Fallen sent Megatron to retreive the cube. The Fallen also says that "for millenia I have dreamed of returning to that wretched planet where I too was betrayed by the Primes", and that "only a Prime" can defeat him and that Optimus is the only one that remains. Later when we meet Jetfire he narrates the rest of it by telling us their were 7 Primes in the beginning and how The Fallen betrayed the rest and was shunned. You then have to come to the conclusion that eventually he forms his own faction which would be known as the Decepticons.

Because Optimus took his face, but if Prime doesn't come back to life he destroys the planet.

this would have been SO much better. but yeah he wasn't really unexplained in the film, it just wasn't really explained why he was sitting around doing nothing. so yeah, only a prime can beat you...but megatron can kill a prime...so...why were you unable to move?

What I was thinking with the "Only a Prime can defeat me" means is that only a Prime in immune to the Fallen's little telekinetic tricks. I don't think it is a measure of strength.

Watch the movie again and pay attention.

I know all the explosions and colors are distracting, but if you pay attention and read between the lines, your questions will be answered.

I mean, it wasn't in the first movie at all, yet in the second one it's all like "BAMMO! College and stuff".

    1. He's the one who CREATED the faction of the Decepticons (Jetfire said so). And before you say "then what the hell is Megatron?", he's the armies commander. It's like the king and the general.

    2. On the Nemesis (that place where Megatron gone to in the 2nd one), the Decepticon base.

    3. He was slaughtering the descendants of the Primes, but missed Optimus. Again, confirmed by Jetfire.

    4. That's where the Nemesis is, and if the Nemesis, is there, by LOGIC, he's on the planet aswell.

    5. He knew where before he died. You see, the Nemesis is the Decepticons' headquarters. If a leader doesn't know where his headquarters is, then THAT would be a plothole.

Absolutely nothing? If you listened to ol' Jetfire you could've known EVERYTHING you needed to know about him. Jetfire was the key to understanding this movie. You listen to him, you understand the movie. Very simple. So, as far as the movie goes, it had absolutely NO plothole. The only ones I'd consider plotholes would be the Doctor and Barricade's disappearance. Nothing more. I didn't even read Alliance/Defiance before I saw the movie.

I read somewhere ( on tf.wiki i believe ) that the Planet where the Nemesis crashed is not a moon of Saturn but it is Chaar.

I don't think that the Fallen was "unable to move"...more "I ain't doin' shit until I'm sure that every Prime is dead, robbing the other side of any advantage and allowing me to get on with owning the universe or whatever". Simple really.

    +1.

A movie should always stand on its own. If you have to go and read the movie tie in novel, and prequel/sequel comics - then quite simply the story telling in the movie has failed.

Uh....yea. Your useless post; not cool.

It's a valid question, and you're just whining about nothing.
