^ They don't combine in robot mode, but when they are both in jet mode the drone plugs into the top of the F-117. I think it's rather cool.

Really? Somehow the transformation for the Breakaway/Thrust mold looks more complex than the Sideswipe mold. I have no trouble transforming this kick-ass silver dude, only I can't fix the part where his knees are not higher than the wheels in car mode, hence my Sideswipe can't roll :(

I agree despite how overdone the CG art is, but Thrust lacks some necessary paint apps IMO.

Hahahah. Ransack was a good mold, but being Scout Class, I decided to put him off my list.. :S

Good for you :)  Although, I find it hard to imagine how the head can turn when it nearly fills the entire cockpit @@

Thurst is great, but I'm having trouble getting his chin up a little. Do I Just unscrew and pull it out a little?

    Just got him today.

Now, I dunno about anyone else's, but the QC on my Thrust is twice as good as on my Breakaway - and my Breakaway was pretty good. All the joints are nice and tight, but not TOO tight.

The colors are fantastic on this mold, and I like the new head, too. He DOES seem like he'll fit in the Classics line, and I think that's where he's getting placed, along with ROTF Dirge when he comes out (I expect, anyway), and 6" Titanium Thundercracker. That nets all 6 Seekers, with 4 different molds (one remold). They're all different characters, I'm willing to give em different bodies. :)

I like that they've managed to give us some ROTF toys that maintain the movie look, yet still can fit into a Classics display, if you want to see it that way.

I've got one step left for my classics seeker collection, all I need is dirge. Energon Starscream (G1 repaint), Universe Skywarp (the BM Jetstorm repaint), Cybertron Thundercracker, Classics Ramjet, RotF Thrust and Dirge.

6 seekers, 6 molds. Throw in Titanium Sunstorm if you must.

Anyway, I bought this yesterday and I'm loving it. Joints are much tighter than on my breakaway, colours are better, head is better.

Can anyone point me in the direct of an easy to do head mod? I'm a massive klutz and I know that I'll mess it up and have to drive to buy another Thrust. Which I will, because he's awesome.

    Revenge of the Fallen Thrust

Vehicle Mode: Based off an F 35 Joint Strike Fighter, there are no differences mold wise in vehicle mode to Breakaway. There are now five colours present - A dark maroon (the main colour), glossy black for the nose cone, wing tips, 'Con symbols and tail wings, a reasonably shiny silver for the intakes and sickle symbols on the tail fins, a dark brown/grey for the jet engine, and clear purple for the cockpit. The under jet kibble is reasonably thick, but isn't prohibitively large, and viewing from the bottom all that is really noticeable are the toes. The front landing gear folds down from the body of the plane and the cockpit opens. Overall the colours look much better than Breakaway, and given that the colours are the only difference in this mode then in that sense it edges it.

Transformation: Same as Breakaway, but everything feels tighter on Thrust. This transformation scheme is one that I quite like, in that it is both familiar and brings something new to the table at the same time. Essentially the fuselage of the jet compresses into the torso and arms and the kibble forms the legs.

Robot Mode: The major change between Thrust and Breakaway is the head, but more on that in a bit. The colours make this mode look much more imposing, like some kind of robot samurai. Introduces one major new colour, which is a bright orange on the shoulders, waist, and thighs which highlights some of the finer details on the mold that might have been unnoticed on Breakaway. The head is sleek and threatening and for my money is much more suiting to a mold that gives off a large imposing vibe (compared to Breakaway's head). Articulation is fairly good - shoulders and hips are on ball joints, universal joins for the wrists and knees, and a series of swivel joints in the ankles that amount to a very impressive range of foot articulation. The head is on a restricted ball joint, but is fully capable of turning in a rather limited and contrived 360 without any modification. There is a waist swivel that is rendered useless by the tail section connecting to his back.

Gimmicks/Weapons: The 'Mech Alive' gimmick is a spinning minigun that is inaccessible in jet mode but is mounted on his right arm in robot mode. It doesn't in any way cripple either mode and is really nifty. To make it rotate you spin a raised dial thing embedded in his arm. Mine spins really smoothly.

Other Notes: The homage side of it is done well, especially in vehicle mode. The black higlights on the wing tips, the symbols on the wings, and the black nose cone are all reminiscent of features on G1 Thrust. Quality control is much better here than on Breakaway. Joints are just the right level of tightness, and the spinning minigun gimmick is much smoother than on Breakaway.

Overall: Breakaway was one of my favourite molds from the first few waves, and the only weaknesses I felt it had were the face mold and the colours. Thrust remedies both of these, and wouldn't look out of place in someone's Classics line if they are that way inclined. Thrust is not only among the best deluxes in the RotF line, but also in recent memory, and gets a solid 9.5/10 from me.

Just take something skinny and jam it up through the gap between the fuselage and landing gear.

Just got him. If you're on the fence, I'd say definitely pick him up. I think he may be one of the highlights of the whole ROTF deluxe line.

Alt mode is the most kibble-free of any ROTF jet I've seen. It's a shame they went with the odd feet as they're the only thing I can even count as kibble looking at the underside. If they had gone with more traditional looking robo-feet they could probably have been incorporated into the fuselage better. But those feet provide a stable base in bot mode allowing for a huge range of poses.

Considering how busy the bot mode looks, it has a lot of articulation and it's actually a very quick (but fun) transformation.

I did my own version of a head mod by snapping the head off the ball joint and wedging the arm of the joint upright. Now the head sits on the lower edge of the front canopy and while this restricts his up/down movement, the head can rotate 360 degrees with no issues.

QC is the best of any ROTF toy I own bar none. I can't find any shoddy paint apps. the paint matches the red plastic well when needed and the joints are at the perfect level of tightness. Nothing feels floppy yet you dont feel you're likely to break him by the joints being forced.

The one exception to this is the little hook that holds the tailplane on his back in robot mode. It's springloaded and moves up and down but it holds on really tight, to the point where I'm worried I'm going to snap it off before it disengages. I've taken to using a pen to move it manually, but this isn't really ideal. Am I missing a trick here? Or is there anything I can do to make this situation better as it's really the only fault I can find with this toy so far.

I usually spin his waist a bit, so the hook de-aligns (is that the word) a bit, allowing me to push it down with my finger a bit. Safe and quick.

By the way i have the exact same opinions on this mold, the plane would have looked 1000 times better without the weird bear feet, but it's still ok. His transformation is crazy fun!
