That is the question. Ok guys I only have a couple of things MISB but my latest arrival has me on the fence. Ehobby G1 Hauler. Would you open this green guy and let the odd man out or is this something that oughta stay behind clear plastic window forever to see? I know it's basically just a repaint of G1 Grapple, but wouldn't he look cool standing next to his twin? What Would You Do? Just curious, that's all. Thanks for lookin'.

Me, I'd open it. Otherwise, you're not collecting toys, you're collecting boxes.

I open 99.9% of my stuff but if I did get a hauler, I'd probably just leave him in the box. He has no real play value if you already have an open Grapple. I mean for a "character" that was in what 1 scene? Not worth it to me.

 

I'm with the opening thought process and love the line "otherwise your collecting boxes" lol, i have a friend who doesnt open any figure he buys and i dont get it i'm sooo using that line on him

open them, indulge yourself. i open every transformer i get. each one begs to be transformed once

My opinion is that all toys are just that, toys. You play with toys, they are meant to be played with. This was, and still is, the sole purpose of these collectible figures. I keep every single box that the bot comes in, and store them away for resale/collect ability/etc... Of course I open the packaging with the utmost care as to not damage it more than I need too.

...unless I am drunk when I do it, and that my friends, is another story.

Personally, I keep Masterpiece, Encore/G1, and non-European boxes. Which gives me a collection of about 75% loose, 25% still with box.
