Thanks man. Yeh Gaohn's better than I thought it would be. I got Lian as well and CM's Dagarn X. I might get Gunkid if the shop owner gets them in before I go. I'm not great with directions though. I got Gaohn from a shop in Sham sui Poh near the Golden Computer arcades. One of the exits should take you real close. Lian and Gunkid is from a store in Mong Kok (all I can say is that its in a commercial building that you can go to by heading out D2 exit from the subway station). I think its called Kai Wong Commercial building. Turn left after the 7/11 store. GGG can be had there as well and occasionally at Good Toys down in Causeway Bay Plaza. I'm not much help am I ?
You know, that's a great question, and one I've wondered about myself. I've never heard reports of problems with GG... I think the goldish plastic on him is different from the metal-flakey-swirly stuff that typically causes GPS problems.
cool, thanks. I guess you're right about the plastic, it's not like G2 slingshot quality. so here's hoping. he's a great addition to my Brave warriors. the only thing I'm not too fond of is his 'shoes', I wish they'd made the Lion legs connect directly under Goldran's feet and then the main Lion torso. it would have made him atleast as tall as Great MightGaine.
Finally got my Land Bison, and it's amazing. While not as prolific as GaoGaiGar or as inventive as Pegasus Saber, it strikes a chord with me b/c it was the first Brave toy I ever saw, long before I was aware of all the cool stuff that was then exclusive to Japan. At a day camp around 1999, one of my friends and I were talking robots and anime (I believe I was extolling the virtues of the MMPR Megazord, a piece I still love today) and we wind up agreeing to bring some of our toys to see. I expect typical Transformers or maybe a Macross/Gundam model or two (pretty much all I was aware of when I was 11) so I was blown away when he showed up with the toys I now know as Land Bison and Battle Bomber. WOW. (He was pretty stoked too, when I brought out my bootleg-but-still-metal Golion. Fun was worth scuffing the toys a bit.) Needless to say, we spent the break that day basking in robot goodness - I never bothered to ask him the name of the awesome one that was made up of four vehicles, so imagine my elation when I come across this thread and saw the Da Garn section. A good decade later, I finally have the combiner that I thought was so amazing back then, and I'm glad to say that it's not just nostalgia talking b/c the toy holds up amazingly well now. It's probably one of the best traditional combiners I've ever seen, and not a purchase I regret. Good show, Takara. Good show.
Yeah, Land Bison is one of my favorite Brave combiners. It's not a complicated transformation/combination scheme, but it pulls everything off really well, and it looks cool in all modes.
for anyone keen, someone listed Dragon Kaiser and King Exkaiser on ebay. Dragon seems incomplete, no shoulder missiles and for that prices, itz not really worth it. Dragon Kaiser King Exkaiser
The GOLDRAN toys look AWESOME TO ME! Have there been any reissues this past year, or any coming up, perhaps by Sonokong?
Goldran is one of those toys that Sonokong seems to keep doing new runs of so he should be quite plentiful (granted, a lot of things that should be relatively inexpensive due to being everywhere in Korea end up anything but on eBay...) There's the Revival reissue set, although it's more expensive because it was a limited run in the first place. They're all amazing toys though whichever version you get.
Sonokong's last Goldran run was from 2006. Sonokong stopped making Braves in 2007. These toys are easy to get: Goldran Leonkyzer Sorokage Captain Shark These toys are very hard to get: Advenger God Silvarion I am selling Goldran, Leonkyzer, and Sorokage if you're interested. You can PM me.
Anyone know where I can get this mini boot of Great Ganbalger pictured here? Any leads would be appreciated. Thanx!
That King Exkaiser is hella tempting. What do they usually go for? Probably gonna get either that or Masterpiece King Exkaiser. Question #2, which one do you guys recommend for a Brave semi-noob? (The Masterpiece KE I have my eye on is cheaper than the above.)
The Masterpieces are about half the size, but come with loads more accessories and are much more poseable and show accurate. I personally own and love my vintage DX - it's not a perfect toy, but it is big and chunky and a lot of fun to transform. You can get a reissue of King Exkaiser, though it lacks a paint app on Exkaiser himself. I'd personally suggest going with the Masterpiece one unless you want the size of the DX. The DX is more in line with what you'll get from the rest of the Brave lines, but the Masterpiece is the better collector piece.
