Screen Shots? thread and i was looking at pics of jolt and i found out that his head is not like the Toys let me show you a comparasion (cant spell) Lat Minute Change Maybe?, only the bottom part looks like teh toy but the top part of the head dosent
never noticed that, for some reason i remember a couple early version pics of jolt in the bonus features on the dvd, but don't quote me. i might have to look tomorrow just out of curiosity.
most users on here know this already, considering all the chaotic changes during the films production, Hasbro and its toys just could not keep up with what were the final renders of these robots.
Yeah, in fact from what I've read, it would seem that the toy designers usually would have to work off of the concept art rather then the actual on screen models. Probably why Leader Meg ended up with the gimp arm that was seen in the early concept piece. Funny, it actually looks like they just reused Sideswipe's head model, only with a few alterations added on.
Seems like the face is more-or-less the same, it's the central crest/fin that's different. Though perhaps the toy features the "battle" mode, and the movie has him only in his standard mode. In the top left picture it cetainly looks like the crest is merely folded down.
I can see how they changes would affect the toys outcome, but with the time they had to make the render, wouldnt it be enough time from that time to the finished product to give the toy designers a look at the new head?
Looks more like it's just pronounced in the toy, and more subdued in the film. And in all honesty, I'm not going to get worked up over a crest on the head ^_^
Not really. Jolt was introduced very late in the movie making process because GM was suddenly pushing for the Volt to be in the mvoie. It's why Jolt is so extremely underused in the movie. A real shame, because he's a surprisingly strong design.
His final head looks a lot different from the toy's and box art's head. It looks meaner, more battle-ready, and more kick-ass. There's a shot of it in the special features somewhere.
