Does anyone know the difference between the Walmart BluRay 2-Disc Set (available in stores) and the Walmart Exclusive Collector's Edition BluRay 2-Disc Set (only available online)? Other than the price, I do not see no difference. Will only the collector's edition include the IMax scenes or both BluRay?

I have included the link to show what I speak of:

Search results for transformers - Walmart

There are two ROTF BluRay 2-Disc Sets offered. One is labeled "exclusive" and is listed for approx. $10.00 more. If you look to the right of the exclusive field, it indicates "On Line Only." If Walmart is suppose to have the exclusive IMAX scenes inclusion and this exclusive was being offered for $10.00 more, than this must be it and is unfortunately only available online.

Can anyone confirm or dispell this assumptive conclusion?

News Today as most people will buy the cheapest/Japanese version (with free toys!) version of the DVD and then go to YOUTUBE for all the extra, exclusive content that was on the other versions of the DVD.

This only proves that "milking" a DVD to make people buy multiple versions will only end in tears for big companies.

Yeah, except youtube now pulls exclusive content videos off the site almost instantly.

I'm not sure why they'd list it as online only considering it is in their ads and on in-store displays.

Anyone in the UK wanting the Imax version early and willing to pay [far too much] for it can get it here.

ya i was looking around on the walmart website to see wats up w/ the "IMAX" versions... and i cant even tell...

as others have seen. all i see is regular widescreen or "exclusives" but none of them clarify if it has IMAX versions..

is it safe to say that every version sold at walmart is a IMAX version?

So if I understand correctly, if I want the Blu-Ray version with the IMAX scenes, I have to buy it in Wal-Mart?

My non-Imax blu ray has been shipped so I should get it before the end of the week. Will wait and see where the Imax version comes out in the UK and probably get it round christmas time.

Well I've got the normal blu-ray and its a pretty awesome disc. Although it is a constant 2.35:1 ratio, there is a difference between Imax and regular 35mm footage, obviously the former being that bit sharper and 'eye-popping'.

The 2 hour making of doc is pretty good, and about 1 hour 48 minutes into it you get to see quite a few Imax shots at their native 1.44:1 aspect ratio. Also, there are TV spots that have a few Imax shots cropped to 1.78:1 with Devastator and the Twins so you get a taste of what the Imax version might offer on blu ray.

And the sound for the film is unbelievable, it will shake your house down! :thumbs2:

I'm gonna wait and see what the verdict is on the imax version, but I know I'll get it at some point.

For those saying there are no additional scenes...you are VERY wrong

The forrest fight has an amazing sequence added in with Prime taking on all 3 in close quarters.

Grindor picks up and uses his rotors brutally on Optimus, cutting a bit of his chest off.
Google it, you should find it.

The WalMart Big Screen edition is really the only version to get. I watched it on BD last night and those IMAX shots not only add the additional time in footage and increased ratio, but the CLARITY in those shots were utterly mind-blowing.

Can't say the same if you're getting it on regular DVD, but on Blu-ray..really, just amazing...

The story and dialogue of this movie are definitely not the strong points and if the only reason I'm getting this was for the action and TF on-screen time, then the Big Screen edition just for adding those IMAX shots in, is well-worth my $20.

    ^^This.

Wish the whole Blu-Ray could have been in the same aspect ratio and clarity as those IMAX shots (forest battle and Devastator scene). Here's hoping for a later special release that is 100% IMAX.

I have to echo this. The IMAX scenes are crystal clear and amazing.

I agree. Whenever the IMAX shots would end and I would see the black bars on my TV re-appear and the degree of clarity gone, I wanted to see more.

Unfortunately, I don't believe a 100% IMAX Blu-Ray release for TF2 will be possible since only those scenes were shot in IMAX and not the entire film (or so we know at this point).

These shots just give us a taste of what's to come with Blu-Ray and the capabilities of a 70mm transfer to this format. Here's to hoping that TF3 is shot 100% in IMAX so we actually do get a BD release in 100% IMAX aspect ration and clarity (although, doubtful).
