    Shockwave is awesome!

Wonder if we'll ever see an oversized KO of that like what happened with Prowl, lol.

Ooh... tiny Steeljaw AND he doesn't tower over Smallest Soundwave?

    Eeenteresting.

The point of the Takara Smallest line (and now the independently produced WSTs) is recreating the G1s in tiny size. So no knees or elbows should be expected.

wst soundwave has elbows, so its not too much to expect Blaster to have them as well.

I'm definitely contemplating getting these, but I think the lack of basic articulation is a reasonable complaint

Well, I recall one of the Dinos actually coming out on the original release date.

The release date has already been pushed back on Shockwave since I caved in on the pre-order. Hopefully, that means that it will actually be released at the end of October.

Well, they actually did add some articulation to Shockwave. His new robot mode pic shows shoulder articulation that the original never had (they also improved a small bit on Grimlock by having his robot mode head able to be moved forward in robot mode).

Still, yeah, reinforcing your response to theestampede, the general trend has been to stick to the original. And adding that extra articulation to Blaster at this size may either not be feasible due to how the transformation works (definitely the case with the knees) or maybe the cost or the structural integrity, or any combination thereof.

WST Soundwave does have elbows, but your example is nullified by the fact that he doesn't have knees (at least not that bend backwards). Lack of articulation would be a reasonable complaint for a regular size line like Classics, but the point of WST is to reproduce the original molds in miniature. If the original didn't have it I wouldn't expect the smaller ones to either.

Also, I totally just preordered that Shockwave.

No it isn't. The original Blaster didn't have elbows; the original Soundwave did. There is no reason to give a scaled down replica of a toy things the original didn't have. Yeesh.

finally! shockwave ordered, but i can't decide on blaster. if they do a twincast redeco of him, it'll be a limited run like red snarl i expect.

edit. from what i'm hearing, shocky will sell out pretty quick :)

Ooh, and both Soundwave & Blaster are the same size in their G1 modes AND transformable, unlike the action masters!!!!

I love the artwork provided for each of these, but both pieces would look better without the battle damage.

i like the 'lowtech'-ness of the blaster artwork, exposed servos and pistons between slabs of armour, but the otherwise ace shockwave art has a great big disproportionate moneky-arm!
