Hmm...well, some of the obvious ones which we keep seeing mentioned:

Optimus Prime...so regal, so noble, and so Latinesque. It's just rife with dignity.

Grimlock. Made-up word that somehow totally tells you what the character is like. All hard, gutteral sounds.

Starscream...so evocative. Vaguely threatening as well. It's almost poetic.

Sinnertwin...just the sound of this one sells it for me. And it sounds so wicked.

Onslaught. A perfect term for a war machine. Unstoppable, irresistible.

Scourge. Another very evocative name. Pity the character tends to be a feeb, but he's got an awesome name.

Megatron. Much better than Galvatron. Not that Megatron even vaguely means anything, but remember, this is the name that Hasbro execs were iffy about because they thought it was too reminiscent of megaton, and the associations with the a-bomb until it was pointed out he was the villains' leader.

Oh yeah...Jhiaxus. Sounds vaguely alien but again, quite sinister.

    <Edit> I can't believe I forgot one!

Waspinator! It has a vaguely silly edge that complemented the character better than anything else could have.

I must concur, the folks at Hasbro in the 80s were naming geniuses. So many of the character names are absolutely excellent. I think we'd have an easier time listing the duds.

Hmm...gonna start that thread, I think! Worst TF Names!

Blurr, Wheeljack, Arcee, Jetfire & Jetstorm, Nightbeat, Windrazor, Starscream, Jazz, Mirage, Prowl, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker... and Scattershot. I could go on for awhile with this, but these are my favorites.
