Not sure how old this is, but it looks like FOX is going to reboot the franchise. Fantastic Four Slips Out Of Disney's Clutches - Gets A Fox Reboot - Fantastic Four - io9
Personally, I find this a bummer. I think the previous two movies are very entertaining. They have fun with the concept, and don't try to take themselves too seriously. Michael Chiklis and Chris Evans were perfect casting.
This is one comic book continunity that needs it. First one was just bad while the second one was all right.
Hmmm, I actually liked the F4 movies - I found them both good popcorn entertainment while generally keeping in with the style of the comics. The only aspect I had a problem with was the depiction of Galactus, but I have my own theory on that one that I'll leave until another time.
Expect to see a bunch of other reboot announcements as many they will be trying even harder to keep licenses with Disney now in the picture.
Two words: THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I liked the originals good enough, but I hope they can make the vast improvements like they did in the Hulk movies. And I hope we get a WHOLE new cast minus Jessica Alba. She's hot, and she portrayed the role well enough. I will say that the one person that needs replaced the worst is Mr. Fantastic.
I quite like the original movies (aside from a few details) but I'd be interested to see what a reboot can bring.
Keep The Thing's,Human Torch's, & Dr.Doom's Actors, but rid Mr.F's & IW's Actor and Actness that don't fit the role well, and please get Danny Devole as Mole Man.
This so much. The movies didn't even do all that badly (in terms of Reception or Finacially) and yet their jumping on the "Reboot" Train and just because its latest trend.
Why reboot? T.T I like the previous films. Sure the 1st was..ok, wasnt that good but it wasnt bad either. The 2nd movie was more entertaining and fun to watch. Besides the ending kinda leave an opening for a 3rd movie which i was kinda expecting and now i see it wont happen. T.T Hope they dont start with the Skrulls or whatever their name is.
I thought the first two films were entertaining and I don't think there are any massive flaws that require rebooting the continuity entirely. Just recast Dr. Doom and Invisible Woman (Alba completely dragged the film down, IMO), get some new writers onboard and continue with the series. I think it depends, but in some cases at least, the expiration date is "[x amount of time] after the last time the license was used". So, for instance, if Fox didn't make a new FF film for [x] years, then they'd lose the license.
Thing and Human torch actors were perfect, but sadly for purposes of distinguishing this new series, they more than likely won't be back. So sad.
I hope the bulk up The Thing he just was too small and not bulky enough for my liking, the actor was fine though
