my opinion is, that jetfire just has so much kibble, that is all up to US to do with of how ever we want... that it just makes the toy so awesome, unlike other kibble formers, like silverbolt *tfu* who's a bot on a plane too... but his backpack can't do anything. Jetfire is so amazing because you can do almost ANYTHING with the kibble. it is amazing on how many panels there are that can fold up, or fold away, in both robot, and combiner mode, in any way you want. heck, you can even have the thrusters as "canons" if you wish.

Optimus Prime wished it. Megatron wasn't too happy about that one.

After more than a week since I've had Leader Jetfire, I've finally found the time to combine him with Leader Prime... I'm really surprised at how great it looks once combined!!! I never thought it would look good judging from various photos I've seen.. It actually doesn't look as good in photos as it does in person and I'm really happy with the end result of the combination... The overall size and weight is just impressive. I'm sure it will look even better if its combined with the upcoming Buster Prime.....

    ^those are great pics!
Those do a great job of hiding the kibble and allowing the best features of the old bird to come through.

i have noticed that not many folks like to display him with the cannon.
    i agree with that.
anybody who does? just wondering how many do.

I do - but only because I'm afraid I'll lose the cannon if I don't.

Just got this guy a few days ago. I wanted him mostly because he was my favorite character in the movie... otherwise I'd be skipping the Leaders.

I REALLY like him. He's really big and takes time to transform him, so he'll spend a lot of time on my shelf, but his transformation is long and satisfying, and only a few parts that are hard to get lined up... mostly the front of the plane.

He's standard leader size, as we've seen, despite being a little hunched. Very bulky, too. Jet mode... you have to see it in person. You can see pictures of how big it is, but you really need to see it in person to really get a grasp of it. It's just HUGE. Now I need to get RotF Leader Prime to combine with him.

holy crap is this guy fiddly as hell going to jet mode. such a PITA. Oh well, I only got him to steal the jet off his back, literally. :lol  I'll just use body parts for kitbash fodder. :)

Great figure. Robot mode looks cool and the plane mode is HUGE. It exceeds ROTF Prime in transforming back to vehicle mode. Such a pain. The combine mode, looks surprisingly good!

I just picked Jetfire up on Friday, and I have to say that I'm not really impressed, although I wanted to be.

Out of the box, panels and joints seemed too loose. Although screen-accurate, I really don't want random crap falling off of a figure (mainly the lower back panel and the panels behind the head).
Overall, not a bad figure, just not as good as was made out to be.

The alt mode is really nice, mainly because of the size. I don't like the under-kibble, but I knew it was there going into the purchase.

Now, for me, the combined-mode is the real let-down. Taking away Prime's leg articulation is a serious flaw as far as I'm concerned. Also, the floppy back pieces and shoulder parts just make it seem lacking in the fun-factor. Sure it's huge and heavy, but does that overshadow the fact that it's a brick?

I'd give Jetfire/JetPrime a 5 out of 10. I really wish I could like it more like so many others here do, and I honestly tried, but just can't get into this figure.

After having Jetfire for a few days I can't help but feel that the design could have been done a lot better than what it was. Especially compared to the engineering that went into Prime. The Plane mode is huge and I can't help but think there really is no need for all of that Kibble underneath there is tons of room to conceal the bot mode inside of the Blackbird mode. The legs didnt need to be "faux" jet engines, they could have easily been the real Jet engines.

In regards to combining with Prime. I feel that being a partsformer for this mode would have been way better than what we got. Heck thats what happened in the movie, Random bits of his corpse were magnetized to Prime.

Personally I would have loved it if they had designed a new Voyager Class Prime and had the Leader Class Jetfire combine with him.

thats precisely what i wish for too... altho it will never happen.
a new voyager prime, combining with a parts forming leader jetfire.

bear in mind that jet fire's head would have to split in half to make this happen though,
as the nose cone transformes into his face, but end up on prime's shoulders in combined mode.
still, i wish they would do it!

as far as this version goes, it went from best thing in the world to "God, i want to sell it off" in a few days for me.

Jetfire has neither the uncomplicated charm of Megatron, nor the attention to design that Prime has.

Transformation from jet to robot is straight-forward enough however transformation back is somewhat fiddly, consisting of what seems like dozens of small adjustments and readustments. There are a few parts that are a little tricky to position, and don't hold their position that well.

I'm wondering if there's an actual design flaw with the panels that go over the head... they're a pretty tight fit once they're positioned, but the joints that they swivel on just don't seem to swivel them into position properly.

Only transformed it once, so maybe i need more pratice... but right now i feel like i'll never bother transforming it to Alt mode ever again, never mind combining it with Prime.

If you have to have it..... it's by no means a terrible toy, it just feels like a muddle of half-finished ideas, and there are probably better TFs to spend your cash on.

Got him last night, really like this guy as much as I thought I would. Great alt mode even with the underside kibble, robot mode is good except for the legs being a little easy to collapse underneath him. Only problem I have is with his gun, it clips fine on his forearm but will not "clip" or stay in place in the other slot when in alt mode, has this been covered in these 40 pages already or is it just mine?
