Not really impressive at all. It doesn't get 230 mpg. Yes if you drive less than 40 miles a day, technically you get great gas mileage because you don't use gas. But if you go over the 40 miles per gallon, you will actually use the MPG. Right now it hasn't been determined a correct MPG. They need to just drive the car on gas and say on one tank of gas, we got this MPG. Instead of saying "If you drive 50 miles, you get 40 miles on electricity and 10 miles on gas, so you get 230mpg". In other words, their formula is wrong.
The price will be going down once they get enough of a following. The prius did the same thing. Keep in mind that 90% of the people who drive Prius's don't give a crap about gas mileage, it's just to make a statement. And they're usually loaded, and have 4 or more luxury, high performance cars.
