Hey, Ani Blackout isn't so bad. I like the "tough guy" look and he is quite loaded with weapons. Sadly, he's a stout figure like Bulkhead and Lugnut.

I still prefer Movie Blackout's design overall, but this one's one of the better Animated figures IMO.  

 

I was almost bought on this toy but the size just puts me off, especially compared to an Animated Seeker. Although I think that Animated Thundercracker is pretty cool looking, and it would be nice to have the three amin seekers Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker.

 

It's interesting to look at Movie and Animated Blackout side-by-side. They are both pretty much the same height and share a lot of details in both modes. On the other hand, the movie robot mode looks like an assemblage of parts layered together (especially the upper body) while the Animated is a single unified rounded shape.

So similar, yet so different at the same time.

What puts this guy over the top is the sheer amount of machine guns they've slapped on him. Does him justice.

For the last Goddamn time, hee's not tiny, just stout. He's the same size as a voyager, but his stocky build and design means his head height is much lower, sicne all his mass is in his upper body.

 

I won't say sheer amount of machineguns, because I've seen Gundams and other robots with more guns loaded on them. But yeah the amount of machineguns is pretty decent. However, due to his massive upper torso, I expected his body to have more embedded/hidden weaponry under all that armour..

 

erhmmm then again Animated series doesn't spark my interest...they don't look serious at all...This black out seems to have a pretty neat automorph features but the design just doens't do it for me.

 

He looks like he's got a Swindle Frequent Buyer card.

 

About his helicopter tail being used on his hand... what exactly can it do as a weapon? If we don't put it on his hand in robot mode, is there any other place to store it or its will be like the Animated Dinobots?




He has the same problem as Lugnut, Bulkhead at least got a Leader Class.
