I actually got 5 figures from the movie. I don't even plan on seeing the movie. I got Cobra Commander, Doctor, Baroness with the coat, Snake Eyes with the coat and wolf, and the Cobra Paratrooper. I am very impressed with the accessories. GEEZ! That's a lot of guns.
So, I'm trying to build a Resolute Firefly using mostly ROC parts. So far I'm looking at using the ROC TRU Firefly as the base, because he is already pretty much there. He has close to the right color, and shoulder and knee pads. I have a pit commando which has damn near close body armor. And I got a ROC Sgt Flash for the head with two eye holes instead on one big one. Any other suggestions?
I'd say add the 25th Firefly backpack and you're pretty much there. I've made almost the same mods, with the exception of the Flash head.
If you actually look at the character sheets ROC Flash is almost a dead ringer for Firefly, maybe a few mods and paint aps but the design is basically there.
I took TRU up on the 2 for $10 deal and got Ripcord and Barbeque. LOVE Ripcord hes just so badass looking imo. as for BBQ I dont like him I cant get him to hold any of his weapons save for the small gun that connects with the backpack. shouldve gotten a Snake Eyes or one of the Accelerator Suit Heavy Duties that they had. so yea anyone want BBQ? I still got his card and all that good stuff if no one does ill just take him back and get a Snake Eyes or somethin
YouTube - San Diego Comic Con 2009 GI Joe Rise of Cobra Destro Two Pack Action Figure Review!!!!! Heres a review I put up for the insanely awesome SDCC 09 Destro two pack!!! I totally recommend buying this up guys
While I'm tempted by the Cobra Gunship I don't think its worth it anymore, why? Because I pulled out my Night Attack Chopper from a few years ago... and it still rocks. And unless the Cobra Gunship is as good as this, well I'm not gonna bother. Once I get enough Reactive Armour Joes to fill it I think I'll be done with this line. A question, where can I get a resolute Snake eyes? And what is this resolute stuff anyway? Custom jobs? Basically whats the best version of Snake Eyes from ROC? I picked up Covert Ops Scarlett and Reactive Armour Scarlett, and seriously, I think Covert Ops is the better figure. Better accessories, better posability and hair that doesn't get in the way edges out RA Scarletts holsterable collapsable crossbow. Edit It that City Strike Snake Eyes a normal release? Because I'm so getting one of those.
The Gunship doesn't come close, the only helicopter that can be compared to the NAC is the Tomahawk. Resolute Snake Eyes will be released later this year as part of the movie line, as City Strike Snake Eyes. Resolute was the webisode cartoon animated by Titmouse, written by Warren Ellis, and is the 1st G.I. Joe cartoon aimed at adults. As for now, the best current movie Snake Eyes is probably the Paris Pursuit(trenchcoat) version. Though I predict that the Snake Eyes with webgear and tonfas, seen in TRU's main displays, will be released and end up being the fan-favorite(notice that all of the illustrations aside Snake Eyes on the display are all used on package art for the figures? I think a web gear Snake Eyes with tonfas and scabbard is inevitable, we've seen the art that is more than likely it's packaging art, and the tonfas were used in the last battle in the movie). Agreed, the accessories really did it for me. Yes
My stores are having major sales on these figures, and they look really nice, but which versions should I buy? Some of the characters (Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, etc.) have different versions. For those of you who have them, which version of each is the better one?
If these are connected in the same way as Marvel Universe figures, all you'd need to do is boil the torso and pull them two torso halves apart I dunno though, I've never tried it with a Joe.
There is a trick I have read people talking about there you put the seem down one side of the body along the edge of a table and whack the other side with a mallet but I never got it to work.
Here's my custom Resolute Firefly, the story thus far: I'm open to suggestions. So far, I plan to shave the details off of the armor, shave the seam off of the mask, and maybe ad the correct ones. Add paint, mainly to the mask, boots, gloves, and elbow bands, and try to add a knife the the small of the back.
I say paint the body too. It's kind of light teal when you are going for a better representation. Also, damn TRU ain't got nothing. Although, I did get a Deep Six.
Damn, Ijust saw the movie and now have to try and not buy all the toys. I really really want that Hummer though
