I think we should just make a sub-site where all the movie guys can love the movie as many times as possible while the fans who care more about Beast Wars, G1, Armada, etc. can be in a peaceful enviroment.

    Just my thinking.

Great points, SKowl. I also just love that comic of yours. That's how I feel like whenever I come to this website especially in the movie forum.

I'll pass on the segregation. Fact is there's almost no such thing as a purely Beast Wars, purely Energon, or purely Bayformers fan. The majority, the bulk of TF fans are varying shades of gray matter. And discussion boards are for interaction, online conversation, occasional heated debate among like-hobbied people. You know, discussion. The alternative would be a new topic stating a like, then four pages of the first post being quoted with "This." or "QFT".

I've seen PLENTY of these.. They have jumped on the bandwagon and all we can hope is they will ride it out of town when it leaves.

Yeah, but then people would still be fighting over Animated/Beast Wars/G1..or do you actually think everything besides Bayformers is peace, love and happiness? :rolleyes2  People have been fighting over practically everything since the dawn of time.

In fact, you, good sir, are only fueling the fire. First by making such an ignorant statement in wanting to split off the people that love the movie (so I guess this makes them inferior to your likings?), and second because I keep seeing posts of you pop up in the movie forum in which you have to remind us of the stupidity of the movie franchise.

It's one thing to not like one or both movies, and you have every right to express your opinion, and discuss about what you like/dislike/hate, but please, if this part of Transformers just isn't your thing in GENERAL, stay away. No need to keep coming back and do the little stabby-stabby.

I'm still waiting to hear the TF2 fans explain to me how ROTF could have been worse than it was...

Except that most Bayformer fans in these boards are G1 fans. Or some other series' fans. I seriously doubt a casual Bayformers viewer actually comes here and posts...

Hating the fact that new people like Transformers now, and it's not the universe you have grown up with kind of feels like a somewhat understandable, but totally irrational, jealousy.

I've said it before, it's like you're the school nerd and you get beat up by the jocks everyday because of your nerdy hobby. Now, ten years later, your hobby has gone 'mainstream' and the jocks like it too! And now you are pissed about it, and feel that new people don't deserve to share in the enjoyment of your hobby! You might even feel they are desecrating it. Totally irrational/

I, for one, am only glad the movies exist, even though I dislike the second one. It has put Transformers back on the global map of coolness, helps to make alot money for Hasbro that they WILL invest back in more Transformers stuff. Sure, more of it will be movie-influenced now, but they've also stated more than once they are aware that they should not disregard the 'original' universe and should treat it, and the fans, with respect..so this isn't the end of our favorite blocky TFs. :)

I completely agree, but I'm too old for cartoons and action figures. I prefer the movies for my childhood franchises to live on. Ironically though, I don't feel too old for video games, but how can I when I'm treated with gems like Dead Space?

No I've seen quite a few of them here. But I'm not going to name names.

Yes, because cameo's, tributes & nods ensure a lack of coherency. :rolleyes2

They can when it consumes the entire movie.

I'm just saying that it is better that you don't need to have comprehenive knowlege of G1, Beast Wars or any other previous incarnation to understand the movie. I don't want a 2+ hours of stuff like "Hey look! This guy is a carbon copy of a bit character from G1!"

    I don't remember getting flamed.

Now that's a subjective point of view. Some people might've thought this was the best story ever and wonderfully directed and disagreed with the critics. I agree with you, but it's not fact that they made valid points.

This. I was annoyed that the twins hogged all the screentime with their lousy characterization

Clones? That's a first. Devastator was just there for the trailer and to show off IL&M's skills IMO.

I don't remember the term for it, but it's like pantomiming props and then forgetting about them. People had to pantomime the robots in the scenes, and they just forgot about wheelie while writing & directing. Not the first time it's happened in the TF movieverse.

Hate on haters and hate on people that liked the movie happen mostly because people aren't satisfied with just having their own opinion and want it further validated, and because people start throwing in lines like "Only an idiot would like this" or "If you didn't like the movie you're obviously not a TF fan". :D
