I was over at TFU.Info looking over some older TFs i may have forgotten.
I noticed quite a few that were decent to even awesome toy-wise, but almost completely ruined by the poorest choices in paint schemes/apps.
    FIXED.
any TFs that you remember that you liked but the colors ruined it?
G2 Hooligan or Space Case for example.

    {EDITED. Sorry for the foul up.}

I grew up with the wacky colors of g2, so paint schemes don't really bother me at all.

Does bugger-all paint apps to begin with count as a bad paint scheme?

The G2 stuff was awesome. Especially Hooligan.

I was put off a lot of the Cybertron Scout class stuff because of shit decos - the difference between Movie Hardtop and Cybertron Hardtop is astounding (I own both in fairness).

ROTF sideways. Well, more of a LACK of paintjob on the red abdomen area. That's the only thing stopping me from getting the figure. It's just so hideous with a block of mono-color.

Most Cybertron toys. Megatron, Shortround, Hardtop, Hot Shot, the list goes on. But Hasbro wisely fixed them with Galvatron, Storm Surge, Swindle, and Excellion.

Very few where I thought a paint scheme totally ruined a toy, though there's a lot I haven't bought in favor of a repaint I liked better.

Best example I can think of is the Cybertron Defense (or Vanguard) Hot Shot toy in Cybertron. The colors didn't really fit the vehicle type, and I was pretty blah about the toy overall. Then the Universe Roadbuster repaint came out and I love it to death (with or without the Nato-Bot upgrade). Amazing what a simple color change can do sometimes.

Now, where's that repaint of Cybertron Snarl in BW Silverbolt colors? :)

So so true. With a paint job he could totally pull the Hundy that's being asked.

Anything from the G2 color selection looks like it was from the desk of Bong Pipe.

He does have paint apps, actually.

I would have to say almost anything from the G2 line.

That Space Case looked like someone half assed tried to wallpaper the jet mode.

I just saw a lot of TFs where it seemed like they were dipped in paint and then other colors were added as a secondary thought. that one (neon of all things) color totally dominated and washed out any character the mold had.
