that bumblebee looks terrible

 

Could be better on B, but I still like him.

 

 
I cannot believe how bad that Bumblebee is or that anyone is impressed by it! 

I mean the forearms are decent, Legs aren't bad (not great but not bad ~ look like they have weird articulation) and the headsculpt is brilliant, but he's got 1/2 a freaking car just hanging to the front of him in one of the ugliest, laziest design decisions I've seen this side of Armada. his chest couldn't look more out of proportion to the rest of him. (i guess they could have had the ENTIRE car hanging on to his chest...) and it's just hanging there. It's not attached. it's not integrated into the design. it's just... there. Like Homer Simpson wearing 1/2 a car as a muumuu...

In a post Alternators/Classics 2.0/Rid/Movie world this is just not cutting it for me.

I used to think that there was nothing worse for a bot then to have half his alt mode having off his BACK. Guess I was wrong.

It's not due to October so I'll cancel my preorder if the real pics come out and it's this bad.

If the hood wasn't covering BB's torso he'd look so much better.

I'll wait to see more advanced shots of alternity BB/CJ before I decide. surely there can be something done about the chest, it doesn't look straight against his body and the pelvis bonnet is just odd, they could easily have attached it to his feet or had it twist so it's his arse (like with the alt mustang)

 

Only the flip out ones on his arms (which form the front car seats).

The twin pistols appear to be the engine block. If so, it's a much better use of it than being stuck onto the back of the head like on GT-R and Z molds.

Yeah it does look like the windshield is supposed to fold up flush against the inside of the roof and the hood bends to fill the space vacated by the windshield.

Even if it doesn't, I have no issues with the Suzuki Swift mold. I think it looks fine as it is. If any characters can pull off the huge roof chest look, it's definitely Bumbleebee and Cliffjumper. I'm rather impressed at how well the rear half of the car folds up on the bot mode's back. Very minimal kibble hanging off as door wings etc.

 

Alternity BB looks good, but I want to see him in color before passing final judgment on him.

Hmmmm. How is it that the Japanese are failing at making awesome, alt-like figures(Alternity) while America is doing it semi-right(Human Alliance)?

 

Yeah, man, that Bumblebee is pretty terrible. What unappealing proportions. Even the head looks weirdly flattened and lumpy, with too many carved details. And seriously, was there no way to transfer some of that mass on his front to the shrunken, skinny chicken legs to beef them up a little? Ugh.

If the scale is going to be off anyway, I think I would honestly rather have Classics Bumblebee standing with my Alt/BT's... or HA Bumblebee. The style may not match, but it's a MUCH nicer-looking figure than this little turd.

Between this guy and the freaky-faced Megatron, Alternity is really turning out to be a disappointment.

 

Wow, I'm going to cancel my pre-order. Bumble doesn't fit in with Classics at all.
