Well, the designer just told us he was about 8 inches in bus mode, and 6.6 inches in robot mode... so that makes him about Voyager sized. Scale-wise, I think that would make him bigger than Legends class. And I'm not sure if you've ever seen a Fast Action Battler, but those things are BIG. They're larger than regular deluxes (though simpler). Pretty far from Legends. Even that guy looks pretty awesome. Seems unlikely. It's an all original design, and HasTak doesn't own the concept of transforming robots. They wouldn't really have legal grounds... zmog
Not sure right now - some may get painted, some are made of extra plastic. But not transparent, as there's too much stuff in the inside. At the moment - standard closed fist, but I wanted to talk with our manifacturer about changeable hands, anyway, as I know them from my Gundam figures. This was the hardest thing of them all, but to me, it also was the most important: The knees will bend correctly in the correct axis AND the bus joint will bend correctly in the horizontal axis. And of course the joint sleeve protection thing will be of flexible plastic. Right, fully assembled and painted. Stickers are not planned at the moment, only paintjobs, that's more robust. This guy's paintjob is based on our local bus company here in Kaiserslautern, Germany. And of course we use different colored plastic for outside and inside elements.
OK, that has been asked several times: Affirmative, knees will be bendable, bus joint will be bendable, and both in the correct directions. That was quite a task, I can tell you.
Hey Tomprime, thanks for coming back and answering questions! That's really cool of you! I wish Fansprojects would do that and it makes me miss Orson at the same time haha
Here are some more images. Note that the first CGI render model had (mistakenly) featured a too large air conditioning system located on top of the bus roof. Those parts were also producing a lot of the kibble in the first bot version. The toy model won't have those parts (also because usually city busses come with a smaller air conditioner), so there will be a little less kibble on the arms, back and legs than in the first version. Compare it with the early toy mesh: And the bus mode with the aircon-kibble on the roof that will be gone in the toy:
Please tell me you'll be doing a red London version later on. Whoa, I just looked at the price of this thing (£30 UK), that's incredible. How can you possibly do this for so little. :O That's only a bit more then an actual Hasbro voyager, ordered! I love that it's got that blend of movie and classics styling that the recent universe figures had to boot.
Heh, Hasbro better get cracking on that voyager Bonecrusher. Robobuz will own the tiddily deluxe version!
Thanks for taking the time to update us, tomprime Maybe you or a mod can add these answers to the starting post? Thanks in advance.
Why hasn't anyone said this yet? This bus design looks exactly like the mobile Command Center vehicle from Jurassic Park 2! This is definitely a must-buy! If you're interested in making more bus transformers, please make a school bus!!
I just preordered one. It's a nice looking concept and I'm pretty sure I won't regret it. Since I'm living in Germany, the shipping costs will be low as well, so this was quite an easy decision.
