That would be Spike. Spike knows me. :p  Anyway, went back today, and they did indeed have The Fallen and Ratchet on the shelves.

Wow, that is better then smyths. Sure you only save €5 but compared to argos you save €25. I really want Devastator and so does my brother.

I thought he looked a lot better in package than the pics have made him seem. I was wondering if it had more paint apps than the US version, although I'd doubt if it does. I was vaguely tempted, although I wasn't going to buy it without an easy way to bring it home. He's heavy.

I bet he is, and its good to hear he has a better paint job then expected. I went down to Smyths on the fonthill road today because me and my brother wanted to pick up Leader Megatron. Hes actually really cool in person once hes out of the box. Its the european version and I keep the feet up because its more accurate. The feet look ok from the front but wierd from the side because of the treads at the back.
There was nothing new except I did see Desert Brawl. Tempted but decided not to. No new voyager figures and no Leader Jetfire. The website lists that the voyager figures are out of stock and wont be available until October, but due to the picture of the Burning Fallen I`d say it means there will be new ones like waves two and three.

They skipped wave 2 partly because of the repaints from TF1 and partly because Smyths had it for so long before Toymaster ran out of its wave 1. They're expecting wave 3 shortly.

He is if you have to carry him for an hour on the way home. :p

    Wave 3 scouts at Tesco.

I popped into Nutgrove on a whim, and there's this box of wave 3 scouts just sitting there on the floor waiting to be packed away. 2 x Scalpel, 2 x Dune Runner, 2 x Reverb, 2 x Ransack, and (I think) the boat.

Picked up Dune Runner and Scalpel/the Doctor. Was severely tempted by Reverb, but both Reverbs had sloppy paint. Gobot Dart was a favourite of mine back in the day, and that colour scheme sets off all kinds of nostalgia buttons in my head. But it'll just have to wait for now.

Dune Runner kicks all kinds of ass. Yeah, it's better than deluxe movie Landmine. And Landmine was awesome. Unfortunately one of the parts on mine is cracked and buckled at a pin joint. But what an incredible toy. If only the quality control was as kickass as the design and engineering. Will open Scalpel 2morrow.

Really? I think he's okay kibble wise, and despite his teeeny tiiiiiiiny feet, I've had no problems standing him.

Which arm fell off? His right can come off easily enough, but his left shouldn't.

A lot of Tescos don't seem to keep a great selection of TFs. Ones I've found to be good are Clarehall, and Clearwater on the northside, and Stillorgan on the southside.

I'm with you on Sideways, I hate that figure. Such a disappointment. The only redeeming feature was the automorph. And the mech alive was ******ed.

The thing I find with a lot of the movie bots is you're never quite sure when you're finished with the transformation. With Classics and Animated it's obvious, but moviebots are a bit more random. Never could get Sideways to look any good. With some you can keep working it and trying different possibilities, and eventually you come up with something that looks pretty cool.

That's where I am with Scalpel at the moment. Probably for the first hour I was pretty frustrated with it. It seemed almost a good figure, but not quite. Like something they only half finished designing. It does have it's problems. Like the antennae pop off at the slightest touch and it's a small transparent part I'm worried about losing. I think the legs could've been done better. Articulation seems unnecessarily restricted.

For a start he was completely mistransformed in the package. Anyway I eventually gave the instructions a look and there's a part that I didn't realise rotated. One of those parts I'd been afraid to force in case it snapped. Anyway, that made all the difference, and I got it into a much more satisfying configuration.

Still can't pose the legs exactly how I'd like, but Scalpel's growing on me and I'm starting to think he's pretty cool.

Picked up Voyager Megatron and Mixmaster at Smyths Blanchardstown today. Not really my neck of the woods, but I was nearby. Think they were the last ones in stock. They also had a single The Fallen, which I considered, but passed. Had the money, but that character really does nothing for me. In the end I decided it's just not worth getting at full price, on point of principle more than anything else. Ugly design.

They also had deluxe Ravage, Interrogator Barricade, and Mudflap. Not interested in Barricade and I already have the other 2.

On a sidenote, I was sorry to see Clearwater Toymaster is closing down. It's a place I was only in once, but it was big, and had a good stock.

The sign said "relocating to Mary St". (which is the one on Jervis st). To me that isn't exactly relocating.

You could see its days were numbered before. It's just not a great location. The one time I was in there, I pretty much had the place to myself. Having Tesco's next door can't have helped.

But I hate to see it gone. That's the 3rd large toyshop in Dublin to close this year. At this rate we'll be reduced to just Smyths and Tescos. They get most of my business as is, but the hunt just won't be the same.

Haven't opened Mixmaster yet. It'll have to wait. Found Jetfire in Smyths Jervis st today. Not a bad deal at €43.99.

Yes, Leader Jetfire is out. They had just one left after I picked mine up. Pretty cool. I really wasn't expecting the third leader class so soon. Don't think they ever had Leader Brawl.

I know I never saw Leader Brawl. Every time I went into Smyths it was just leader OPtimus and Megatron, and as far as I know Leader Brawl was never listed in Argos. It was just Meatron, Optimus and Nightwatch Optimus.
Good to hear Jetfire is out.
