i had my 3rd viewing yesterday, and the movie seemed to go quickly, and actually i'd say the plot got tighter each time. i picked up on stuff that i missed the other times. one thing i did notice that i completely missed the first 2 times was the scene where the decepticon protoforms arrive at the pyramids - off to the left of the screen you see Mixmaster and Long Haul driving in vehicle form. these are the robots that fight in the final battle (and aren't part of Devastator).

Finally, I saw Transformers Revenge of the Fallen with my friend Carla. How I describe the movie:

    Too much sex jokes -_-
Not enough time in the last fight -__-
    Many plot holes -____-

    And...

    Jetfire was Lol! n_n
    Wheelie was Lol
Even Simmons was Lol. Sam was more brave than Leo in the first movie. Sam little girl scream kill me n_n
I nearly cried when Megatron kill Optimus. I nearly said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Jetfire took all the show. "My father was the first wheel! And you know in what he transform?! Nothing! But he did it with honor! Dignity!" And the parachute part was so great! Someone was clapping (I think it was a girl) when Optimus revived.

I wanted to see an Optimus Prime as a hatchling (yeah, they born from eggs 0_o )

My friend gave a 6 and she understood all the movie (she widely use logic) . I gave it a 6.6. If they take out some lame jokes I will give it a 7.6.

And... Starscream and Megatron interaction... homage to G1! Love those two! And also the twins n_n

I Just came back from seeing ROTF in IMAX at the MD Science Center; Absolutely amazing and even better on the second viewing. My only problem was spotting what scenes were shot in "IMAX" (which was the only time I felt the immense-ness of the screen itself; I got the feeling Devastator was going to be swallow me whole if they got any closer) and which were shot with standard film, which was a majority of the film. I think a spotted a couple of those "added scenes" (in the Forest Battle, and, maybe, the Bumblebee vs. Rampage).

Ok I saw the movie the first weekend it was out and it took some time to gather my thoughts on how to review it. Anyhow I had high hopes for this movie but I found it disappointing. I am not saying I hate the movie but I do feel that it had something missing that the first one had and had many problems. For one it had one too many fart or crotch jokes and it had too may plot holes. For example How did Sam's parents find out about TFs? and How did the British forces end up fighting with the US forces against the Decepticons? I would have liked some mention of these events but nothing was said about them. Why did it all depend on Sam again? Story wise it does makes sense since he destroyed the Allspark and came in contact with a piece of it. I hope this does not happen on the 3rd movie but rather has a supporting part like he did in the cartoon when he did things to help the Autobots. And finally I did not like Mudflap or Skids not because I found them racist but annoying. Despite these faults of the movie there were some things I liked such as the inclusion of Soundwave, the pretender Alice and (gasp) even Wheelie. The fight scenes and music where cool as well. Saddly the good things of the movie where not enought for me to enjoy the movie as much as I was hoping and did not feel satisfied like I did after seeing the first one. Perhaps it was that it laked something that the first did have. Maybe it was that there was too much going on and that you did not get to feel for the characters. Maybe they should borrow from Animated and have Optimus, Ratched, Ironhide and Bumblebee be the central characters while the others make cameos in some way. Anyhow I will watch and get the dvd once it is sold.

Finally caught ROTF in theaters this past Monday night. Honestly, I thought it was awesome! I simply overlooked what I found disturbing -- such as Devastator's balls and Simmons wearing a thong -- and enjoyed the movie for what it is... a popcorn summer blockbuster film.

Has anyone noticed this? Over 3000 replies on this thread!

As for ROTF, it was EPIC! On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate it a 9. Some of the jokes were a bit too adult for most people (this is no kid movie), but the rest was amazing! I nearly cried when Optimus was killed, but since my brother was sitting next to me, and I embarrass him a lot, I managed to keep it together. And I take back what I said before about my bro not likeing it. He thought it was great as well.

Now, how about getting that Oscar for Best Special Effects? The first movie lost to The Golden Compass and it's stupid talking polar bear. This better not happen again.

I took my brother and neice to watch it last week and they loved it. Even my neice wanted to watch the animated movie for the first time and she watched it twice in the same night. She has became a transformer fan now. As an uncle im so proud. :D

Finally got to an IMAX showing. Holy crap. The forest battle is about twenty times more epic in full-screen IMAX glory. When Starscream bends down to look at Sam, and STILL takes up the entire screen? It's like he's looking into your soul.

I was slightly disappointed with how little they utilized the full IMAX screen size. Only three scenes that I noticed. But boy were they ever noticeable. I would love to see the entire movie reformatted that way, though I know it will never happen now.

Maybe next time? Or at least all the hard-hitting action scenes.

    Okay, this is amazing.

When I first saw the movie, I couldn't hear what he said at all. Another poster claims he says "I wear it when I'm in a funk." But now, when I saw that scene all I can hear is "I wear it when I want to fuck" (because of this LOLZ post) and it's absolutely hilarious. And ridiculous. Can you imagine? Wearing a special jock when you want to engage in coitus. I'm howling like a wolf. :lolol

Tuturro does not deliver the line well at all.

"I wear it when I'm on the front" - is what I heard. Referring to 'seeing action' or perhaps 'on the front counter'? I guess we'll have to wait for DVD subs.

I went to see ROTF last Saturday for the second time, and found liking it more than when I first saw it.

I still disliked the things I didn't like when I first saw it (Leo, the twins, the national security advisor, the badass-evil-Autobots killing innocent Decepticons without remorse, the amount of "sex" jokes, etc.), but found those things more tolerable the second time. Even Leo, which was the character I disliked the most the first time around, seemed ok now.

I guess it all comes down to expectations. I wanted ROTF to be a better movie than the first one, and in the end - IMO - it was about the same. The second time I wasn't expecting a better sequel, I was expecting ROTF and I liked it way more.

    Hope that makes sense. :)

Makes sense, but I didn't pick up at all on the whole ruthless Autobot stuff. They were tracking down Decepticons hiding on Earth. Better now than whe they rise up leter in sufficient numbers and go 'Surprise'!

The way the whole Shanghai scene was presented, it seemed like Demolishor and Sideways were innocents getting chased and killed by a police force. The comic handled it better with Prime's "I wish there was any other way" before delivering the killing blow to Demolishor, which makes me think the whole scene would've worked better with Lennox or Epps or even Gen. Morshower addressing the troops telling them how many civilians the duo of Decepticons had killed before NEST's arrival to the scene.

In order for NEST to have even been called into action, Demolishor or Sideways would have had to do something to compromise their disguises and out themselves as Decepticons.

I saw the movie a few days after it was released, just haven't had a chance to post my thoughts in this thread.

I did like the movie, though I'm not sure if I liked it as much as the first one. Even though both are close to the same length, for some reason this one seemed to be longer, though that may be because my mother wasn't liking it at all (despite the fact that she did like the first one) and I was conscious of the running time. The effects and computer animations were of course spectacular, and some of the new decepticons were totally cool. Some of the humorous parts worked well, especially those with Sam's mother.

The things I didn't particularly care for was an excess of "off-color" humor - sex, toilet humor, etc. Some of this sort of thing is OK but I thought there was a bit too much of it in ROTF. This sort of thing loses its effect when it is utilized too often. Also, in the beginning of the film, some of the chase scenes were rather confusing - even though I am familiar with and recognized the characters that appeared in the first film. I also didn't "get" the connection between the icecream truck and Skids and Mudflap. I figured that one out when I got home and read something here on the boards that explained that.

Also, I think there were some places in the film that could have seriously used some editing - especially the part in Egypt where Sam is trying to get away from the Decepticons and then revive Optimus Prime. That just seemed to go on way, way too long - it's almost as if they felt they had to pad it out some how and fill up that time. You could cut several minutes of superfluous scenes out of that and it would have been better IMO.

Speaking of Egypt, yes, I can understand that actual on-site filming isn't always feasible, but seriously - I've been to Egypt, even rode a camel around the great pyramids and visited several archeological sites there. And some of that desert scenery looks nothing like that part of the world! I don't know where those scenes were filmed, maybe the Mojave desert or somewhere else in the desert southwest US....but, coming from someone who has been to Egypt, that was distracting to me.

Also, I didn't care for the design and look of the Fallen - he reminds me way too much of a metallic version of one of the drones in the Alien films - am I the only one who noticed or sees that? Looks like he was drawn by the artist H.R. Gieger (who did design the look of the monsters in the Alien films). BTW, the Fallen and the other protoforms seen in the prologue of the film appear quite different from those seen in the first film (though of course they were Autobots).

That said, I did enjoy the film, and at least my friend (whom accompanied my mother and I) did like ROTF. If there's a part 3, I'll leave my mom home and take him.

True. Something would have to have happened to tip them off that they were there. Remember they were there 'looking for something'.

How much did the movie cost to make? I am just wondering.
