"Absolutely nothing *Say it again y'all!*" He's not even in it. A minor detail, but Foster was obviously working off of an earlier draft and most often than not, supplemental literature means nothing when it comes to canonicity. If Bay decides the book is canonical, great. If not, then it's just glorified fan fiction.
You're getting ahead of yourself here! Forget all this and ask a more currently relevant question. How is it that a shard of the AllSpark can awaken a long dormant Jetfire AND revive a 2 year old dead Megatron, but couldn't be used to bring Optimus Prime back on-line? Right. That's what I thought... now, that little quagmire having been established, let's think about how much the writers are really concerned about making sense out of the Matrix of Leadership's life giving abilities.
Now pardon me, but after TF1 & TF2, I'd say we're in clear water to assume TF3 will have plenty of plot holes. In that sense the OP is heading to the deli to pick up a block of Swiss. He hasn't seen it yet, but by all previous experience he can assume it has holes in it. However, running with that and the OP's actual first post, he's assuming he knows exactly where one of those big holes in the cheese will be. And while given the numerous holes generally found in Swiss will likely give him a good shot at being right, the fact is he doesn't know and is assuming. And for the record, the Deli owner doesn't care about holes, he's just sellin' cheese. ...I'm going to go eat some cheese now..
I have an even better question, why do people seem to forget that (A)Jetfire was only dormant, (B)Megatron was rebuilt using parts from a Decepticon that got ripped apart for the sake of bringing him back and not just the Allspark shard, and (C)They never even once attempted to revive Optimus using any piece of the Allspark so why do people ask?
Ya I know I thought about it....Orci stated that if Sam would have used that little shard prime would have came back mindless like all the other robots brought to life by the shard....but why didnt megs come back as mindless??
the books are written based on the treatment the author is given, so they can differenciate from the movie, like how barricade died in the first movie novel but didn't in the movie
Jazz isn't dead, it was Bonecrusher and NOT Crushboner in the movie, and Brawl's name is Devastator! Sorry, it's late at night, and I think I've lost my mind. Still, I'm not completely sure what's going on here.
this is very true...I have just come under the thought that the shard Sam had was not powerful enough but it worked for Jetfire because he was only in stasis lock....they should have explained this in the movie
Heres why they cant be brought back Jazz, well I guess he could, but where is he? Arcee isnt dead, and Jetfire. Well, take a hammer, and smash any jetfire toy into a bunch of little pieces. Get it now?
Jazz's death was explained in the DK book. He has a shield around it but sometimes he turns it off (can't remember why) But during Megatron's attack he didn't have enough energon to turn it on so there was nothing to protect his spark.
I wouldn't take the DK book as canon if I were you. If I remember correctly, it also said Frenzy didn't talk much.
No Matrix in TF3? How am I supposed to start singing "The Touch" in the middle of the movie then? ...Nevermind, I'll just start singing whenever the next MacGuffin pops up
