Proper scale models made of the Transformers movie vehicles? Obviously the main line toys are fairly good representations, but compromises are made for the transformation etc. and in all honesty, being made in cheap plastic makes them look a bit, well, cheap. The few Transformers I have bought have an adult I've had displayed in vehicle mode but they do look like exactly what they are: kids' toys. I know there have been a few Bumblebee-esque Concept Camaro models produced, but an official Transformers line of the exact vehicles used in the movies would be cool. I'd love to get my hands on the three Arcee bikes, but the toys are only unlicensed approximations. Plus it would be great to have more autobots with clear plastic lights instead of painted on red and sliver.I'm probably in a minority with this, but what I love about the movie-verse, despite its shortcomings, is the fact real alt modes are used, which was the appeal to me of pre-1986 G1.
No. I collect Transformers cos they're robots that try to look like cars and stuff and not cos of stupid cars and stuff.
Surely you CAN buy proper scale models of the real world TF vehicles? They're just not official Transformers product. Anyway, no. Not even slightly interested.
You'd be surprised just how hard it is to track down some of those vehicles. Especially as most of them have been modified specifically for the movies.
Surely you could piece together a set from assorted model shops (except for the Cybertronian alt modes and the one of a kind alt modes (Chevy Stingray Concept))
i thought the rpms might be cool but i saw optimus and ratchet in TRU and they looked a bit cheap and nasty. I never got round to getting any alternators because I was a poor student at the time and couldn't justify spending £20 on anything! Plus I've seen a few alternators and being all plastic they looked again a bit cheap. I don't think for one second that Hasbro/Paramount/GM etc. would license such a line of scale model vehicles, but was just interested in seeing what people thought. Of course, it goes against the whole thing of being a transformers fan wanthing things that don't transform, but then I'm a bit perverse like that, and though I still love the idea of Transformers and the designs and alt mode choices etc., I've just found the toys rather underwhelming and disappointing (except maybe Buster Prime which does look pretty special, though it could all change in person!). Guess that comes from being a perfectionist :S
