Personally, I don't want any new gimmicks for tf3.

There's already been so much Transformers stuff thrown into the pot for these films that they could have written years worth of critically-successful high-quality stories with the characters they already have from number 1 and especially number 2.

Lets have a movie where we explore deeper into the minds of characters, or the meaning of events, rather than just adding more and more new, gimmicky crap before anyone has a chance to process it all.

I'd like to see a film where they delve more into the history of Cybertron, the nature of the Allspark and transformer culture, the characters of the transformers, without having to have some new, ridiculous "Big Bad" coming down from space every two minutes.

These are films, where each one must have a useful story.
These are not video games, where it is okay to throw out boss fight after boss fight until there's no more budget.

After Megatron, it's The Fallen. Then "Minicons" or "Unicron." Then what? are they going to dig up Jhiaxus? Thunderwing? Bludgeon? Galvatron? Quintessons? Junkions? Headmasters? Powermasters? Sky-bite? (Regardless of whether or not these ideas are cool...) They can't just come up with new "bad guys/macguffins of the week" for the brand new (GMC-2012-concept) Autobots to look pretty while fighting/chasing.

Otherwise, the Transformers movies are going to start looking like old episodes of Digimon.
(except with new heroes added every episode, to further confound things)

    And that'll just suck!

Then we need Rodimus Prime to defeat Unicron.

I think we ran out of steam on the second film. Dont get me wrong, I loved it but the ending wasn't very satisfying. Yes, Unicron the size of our moon would destroy the film. It isn't about narrow mindedness, its about how grossly exaggerated it would have to be and impossible to make people relate in any way to it.

You can disagree, but I have never seen it work in Hollywood and we do have some examples where gross scale differentiation fell flat on its ass.

*Honey I blew up the kid?"

Use IDW concept for Galvatron as a zombietron, have an all out war, people die, decepticons die, a good portion of autobots die... get Ultra Magnus and Hot Rod in on that action and my personal fav's the Dinobots and just end it once and for all. If Unicron has to be in it, allude to his presence and let that be enough.

While I don't want Unicron in the movies, I don't like his reasoning for it. He makes it sound bad to put more focus on the Transformers, in a Transformers movie. God forbid you take any screen time away from the humans.

We have already seen small transformers (kitchen bots, Wheelie, Scalpel, etc) and we've seen figures combining to form bigger guys. Mini-cons is not that big of a stretch as it's handled well. I'm hoping each movie doesn't introduce some new gimic. All of a sudden in the second movie they can merge and become human looking characters, if they keep tacking on new abilities I think it'll be come a bit like the cartoon where characters would develop abilties to suit the plot and then those abilities will disappear.

As for the racist illiterate comment, the only thing I can respond to is the fact that none of the Transformers could read that language and I've met many people black and white who talk the way skids and Mudflap talk. So to me it's a non issue.

I'm against the idea of Unicron - it would contradict the Allspark idea and Minicons... some things do work in the cartoon world, but not in a "real-world" movie. The thrid movie don't need to overtop the last one - just tell a good story with a good characterization of the Bots, that's all Transformers need. Characterization people, characterization!

Yes, Quintessons for being the creator of the Allspark.

I 'd like to see Megatron send out a call for his ultra badass, elite killer mercenary decepticon sqaud to come to earth. It'd be guys ike Lockdown, Blitzwing, Sixshot etc who would turn the tables on the Autbots and hunt them down while Megs busys himself with trying to kill Sam.

im sorry but if there is a Transformers 3 it will be the last one, or at least last good one....why not get a UNicron, Galvatron, Ultra Magnus etc. out of it. I mean it would be a great opportunity to have a great story of uncovering what Unicron is and then everyone has to try and stop him...

plus we all know we want another Unicron toy.

    That's not necessarily a bad thing. ;)

And yes on the Starscream/Combaticons thing. Would love to see some Decepticon internal struggle for power now that The Fallen is gone.

This is one of the better ideas. In the comic ROTF-Prequel "Defiance" - that's what Megatron used (at the prompting of the Fallen) to raise what became the Decepticons. To build an empire w/ Cybertron at the heart of it.

Or the Vok/Swarm. Something that would cause Cons & Bots to unite - at least for a bit. Then again - that would actually require mech-to-mech interaction, which Bay seems rather against, addl mech-lines in ROTF not withstanding.

I like the idea of Unicron, but not just yet. Thats the sort of big bad that needs to be saved for later. There are many more tales to tell before than. I want to see the Decepticons finally taking over the earth, or Starscream trying to usurp Megatron with the help of the mighty Bruticus.

That would be an utter disaster. Without those humans we'd have to rely on - erm - I forget. Shapey-Changey Robotrons or something. There was a movie titled after them in 2007. And I think also one this year too. It's on the tip of my tongue...
No, he's right. Human characters forefront all the way. It's what draws the crowds to these movies after all. Other things can be sacrificed instead.

As for Unicron, I can't say I'm keen. Not because he couldn't be done well by any writer with a bit of imagination and skill, but because he's been done to death in TF already. And Minicons? Yeah, as many have already said, there have been plenty of mini Transformers in these movies so far that it would be a wasted namecheck. Unless they linked to a Transformer to power them up. Hey, maybe Sam will become a Minicon for the next film and combine with Optimus. Mash that idea together with the 'Autobot Spike' thing. Gotta give him something to do since they've already done the map/symbols thing with him twice now. Can't go back to that same idea for a third dip. Can they?

Yeah, and a decent Supreme Class toy from the movie line. :lol

Anyways, Unicron could be worked in, but he dwarfs too many characters. In order to make him work, they just need to think big, and stick to the mythos well. Bay and his crew have the first one down, but what about the second part?
