Thanks for the pics QJ! I like how it looks painted, but you're right that it's not as crisp as Hot Toys. Hopefully the final production pieces will be better. I can't wait for the inevitable MKII version of this.

Has anyone else checked out Bandai's "The Chogokin" line from several years ago (2003ish I think)? Tiny 3" diecast super robots. I think they're reissues of old Popy toys but I'm not informed enough to be certain. I always see them kicking around various places on the intarweb but I never checked them out until now.

I snagged a GT-06 Raideen for super cheap and he just arrived today. My overall opinion is TINY GOD. I love this thing. It's mostly metal so even though it's the size of a Microman it's very hefty. Articulation is minimal (shoulders, hips, knees) but still enough to be fun. He even has tiny little spring-loaded rocket punch fists that seem to shoot further than any Transformers launcher I have. And on top of that he can fully transform to God Bird mode without any parts-swapping. And has moving die-cast landing gear. Before he arrived I was worried that he might be fragile or fidgity but the thing is a micro-tank. The only thing I'll worry about is accidentally launching a fist into oblivion. But even that's not a huge worry because he comes with extras! :D

I was going to pick up the SOC toy but this little chunk of concentrated awesome might just be good enough for me. Probably the best $15 I've ever spent on a robot toy.

I'm very curious about the rest of the line now. Anyone have them?

I have Raideen as well as Getter 1 and Combattler from that line. They're all pretty cool little die cast chunks of coolness, definitely recommend them if anyone can find them on the cheap. The Combattler even does Granddasher.

Oh hell yeah, I'm going to have to track down one of those.

I don't know why this tiny scale is so appealing to me all of a sudden. Weird how you can ignore something for years and then suddenly it just clicks.

They didn't make a Tetsujin in this line, did they?
