In an IM with a friend right now and he was wondering who Wheeljacks opposite/opponent was in the cons. Like it was always Optimus vs Megatron, Soundwave vs Blaster. Wasn't is like Starscream vs Prowl? Anyway, I hope what Im asking makes sense. We are debating it now on IM and we are curious other opinions. Thanks
I don't think it ever broke down that cleanly outside Prime and Megs. Soundwave and Blaster finally faced off in Auto-Bop, but that was about it. Ya gotta remember that until quite a way into Season 2, the 'Cons were quite badly outnumbered as far as named characters went. Hence the Seeker and Reflector clones.
You bring up a good point. Im a bit rusty sadly, kind of havent thought about it in a couple of years. I really need to pull out my Rhino DVDs and watch it all again. Thanks for your post!
No probs. You can sometimes find short-term rivalries. Hound and Rumble in MTMTE Parts 2 and 3 springs to mind.
Prime vs Megatron Ironhide vs Starscream Sunstreaker vs Thundercracker Sideswipe vs Skywarp Hound vs Rumble Cliffjumper vs Laserbeak Bumblebee vs Ravage Prowl vs Shockwave Jazz vs Soundwave Dinobots vs Constructicons Not sure if all of those actually took place, and all but the first and last probably didn't happen more than once.
Dinobots vs. Constructicons happens at least twice: Heavy Metal War and The Movie. Bumblebee/Ravage at least twice: The Immobilizer and Fire on the Mountain. Prowl/Shockwave... I don't think they ever met in the cartoon.
Starscream faced off with Prime at least once that I can recall. And thats not counting their clones.
I always liked that in season one, there were no obvious counterparts. It took 2-3 weak Autobots to take down a Decepticon. They were stronger and faster but the Autobots could team up. Anyway, Wheeljack's counterpart to an extent was Starscream (a scientist before the war) and Bombshell, although that wasn't really shown in the cartoons. But Megatron, Soundwave and Shockwave all had pretty good mad scientist/engineering abilities.
