My Dad would tell me that while he was in Vietnam that song would come on the radio every morning and it was one of the brightest memories he had while serving over there. YES! Don't get me wrong, Whitney's got a hell of voice. The song belongs to Dolly though. I think it's because she sang it with so much emotion that was missing from the Whitney version. A few more that I thought of: "When a Man Loves a Woman"~Percy Sledge--You can't beat the original! I've actually had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Sledge a couple of times in concert and the show was phenomenal each time. "Check Yes or No"~George Strait--Just a sweet little Country song about lovers that have grown up together.
