    That could be very cool.
But RID Grimlock was Grimlock in name only.
Kind of like ROTF Skids is nothing like the "Anthropologist" Skids from G1.

Grimlock can transform into an alien creature back on cybertron that resembles a Tyrannosaurus. We have insects, jaguars and scorpions whats wrong with dinosaurs? If we have to have just 1 dinobot make it Grimlock. have his personality like Ironhide, a bit dumber, but made up for in strength.

I like the movies for the action sequences, I find the rest lacking...

I like Grimlock as a big friggin' T-Rex...

A giant mechanical T-Rex would make one heckuva action sequence (so long as they don't give it the devastator treatment)

You know... thinking it over... making a short at the beginning of TF3 featuring the dinobots would be pretty cool...

Maybe they would appear as not dinosaurs, but just Cybertronian monster forms. It's possible they wouldn't even transform. Some would think it's cool, many would think they'd been ruined. Now I don't know if that could happen to characters as iconic as they are, but it seems like the kind of thing that could happen in the movieverse.

I was definitely thinking that vehicle should be in TF3 when I saw Top Gear! Didn't have Grimlock in mind though, interesting idea....one I could get behind.

Even when they were talking about ideas for TF1, I thought it completely plausible for the dinobots to exist in this movie world amidst all the realism they've infused it with. Thats the struggle with the movie; to suddenly see it all in real life and still believe it. What if...

The dinobots set out from Cybertron as part of the autobots searching for the Allspark and land on earth during the late Cretatious period. To blend in on earth, they scan different dinosaur forms as there alt modes, still capable of transforming from this to robot mode. When some cataclysmic event occurs to wipe out the dinosaurs, the ensuing magnetic radiation (or something) puts them into stasis lock and they awaken (somehow) in the time of TF3, in their dino modes, just long enough for a couple good fights, and then they scan their new modes; like the machine at the beginning of this thread. This would allow for some cool Beast Wars-eque shots of real, organic-looking living dinosaurs roaring and running, and then breaking into pieces as they transform into movie-style robots.

I have a feeling a lot of people are going to hate this idea, but so be it.

And in response to all the relation to scorponox and ravage appearing as mechanical-looking earth organisms, I twisted this around in my head too until it made sense. Both of them broke off as part of a bigger guy (Scorponox from Blackout and Ravage from Soudwave), which meant the primary earth-pieces they'd taken on as camo had been decided before they broke away. So the way I see it, they either digitally chose the shapes from images of scorpions and jaguars from the internet (the way all of them become able to speak english) and then appear on earth already in this form (since these two don't have alt modes; just compact modes). OR...they just happened to already exist in those shapes, following some strange, unspoken universal tendency for creatures to take on certain forms, like all the main autobots and decepticons having primarily humanoid shapes despite being alien. Wrap your brain around that s**t!

I was thinking that the perfect way to bring a giant metallic T-REX together with a bunch of Autobot cars is to have one of those Truck-a-saurus' come to life.

Best to do it as a cameo, but that would make perfect sense (if you re-define the meaning of the word SENSE). BB goes to a Truck rally to find The twins who go there to show their stuff off. Something invloving Decepticons and All-spark enery happens and BLAMMO....you get a Grimlock that looks like the G1 and has a movie spin.

    Something like this-

The character wouldn't have to be aroun d for long, perhaps just that one scene. Of course it would reformat into a less crude looking design. Hell, you could only have him in Dino mode in that scene and have an Animated style Grimlock transformation as an after credits scene.
