Presumably it's a running change either to ease transformation or make the antennae less sharp or pointy for safety. I guess that would likely make long-antennae the more valuable version in the long run. not that I care about that stuff.
I bought mine just over a week ago at a place called The Warehouse (in New Zealand). I believe it may be an Australian store, too. But mine has long antennae. It was the only Scalpel there, though, so I picked it up, of course. Man, I wanted to get all the other scouts but I could only afford two so I got Scalpel and Ransack.
I hate to throw a wrench in the works here, but the one I picked up has one long and one short, I really think this is just a QC issue to be honest.
Can you take a pic of that? It looks like the antennae are one piece. So that would be a 3rd variant if true.
I have the long antenna version. I'm getting less then 10 toys from the ROTF line, and Scalpel is definitely a most-get!
Odd- i'm looking at my Scalpel and he has the long antennae but there far more scrunched up like the short antennaeied one- it's also pointing up straight up unlike going side to side- I would imagine it's a packaging error
they cutted the antennas cause a dumb shitty kid has picked the antenna into his exe or somehing, i hate things like that...
Huh, interesting find. Personaly I want the longer set, but since this guy is bought on sight for me anyways (I am in need of medics) I really don't care if I have to take the short variant.
Well, it turns out then that I have the long version and that's fine by me: it looks cooler and he transforms just fine.
